It is a truly tough thing when any assert that they are perfect. They automatically move up to the front lines of warfare with those who ‘refuse’ to accept the ‘finished’ work of the Cross. But that was where Paul was. And nobody wanted to hear him.

Of course, I am not perfect; not of anything I can do, or be, or wish, plan, or try! Jesus is my perfection, and yours too. And if I ‘am’ truly dead (or you), then we are buried with Him, that is, in the death that He died. And to marvel, we are ‘raised’ with Him from the dead [which is to say by, or together with], and HIS life is our perfection! That is, if we let Him live. Therefore, if we are trusting Him, and only as we are trusting HIM, HE is our perfection. But If I am trusting myself, I won’t last a minute. (It is 10:01 kinda thing.)

"I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in." Those are lyrics to a song by a group whose name I cannot remember, from my younger days. They kind of resemble what happens if a Christian, "Tests himself to see if he is in the faith." One way he knows who he is trusting is by his fruit. If at ten o'clock all is well, but ten o one it went to hell, then knows he that himself is in whom he trusts. That's flat how it is. And quite simply God doesn't expect you to trust yourself. If you could, you wouldn't need Him. If you could He wouldn't have had to die, and HE could just say, "Save yourself." Areunt you glad He didn't?

You can trust yourself. You can trust yourself to fail. It is a Peter and the boat thing. He said to Jesus, " If it is you, bid me to come to thee." And Jesus did, just as He bids us all to come. But what happened to Peter is that he realized that he couldn't trust himself. He completely forgot that he was trusting Jesus when he realized that he couldn't trust himself to walk on water. Yep! It's that simple. He realized that he couldn't trust himself. At ten o' clock, he was walking on water. At ten o' one he was sinking.

But what was happening when he was trusting Jesus? Who are you trusting? Let me ask you, what is the condition of the condition you are in? It will tell you who you are trusting.

For who by taking thought can add a single cubit to his own stature? What that means is can you make it happen by thinking it? Can you make anything happen by willing it? Can you make it happen by 'trying', or by trusting?

Eden, That is your process, even as you have described! For so shall ye be ever learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. (IITim 3:7) You do have to ’do’ something. You have to believe! You have to ’enter into rest’ (Heb). You have to ‘know’ what it means to ‘abide’. When you accomplish these, then you will know the meaning of sanctification. But will you notice that in these, that which you ‘do’, doesn’t really ‘do’ anything to work towards heaven, but accomplishes letting Him ‘carry’ you. It "Receives." (There is one set of footprints in the sand, clap your hands. There is one set of footprints in the sand, clap your hands! If you love Him and you know it, then your faith will really show it, clap your hands.)

Now on listening to the spirit of your man:


If you only will, you will discover here that “the spirit of man only knows the things of man.” Therefore if you are listening to your spirit of man, you are in the darkest deepness to do so. Yet, if you receive God’s Spirit to replace, or fill your spirit of man, then your soul will know Him by HIS Spirit, as per:


Don't miss a word. Keep in mind 'know', and "Freely given to us of God." Now, His Spirit, if we have His Spirit, has replaced the spirit of man, and by His Spirit which He has given us, we 'can' know Him, and His. Then it goes on to say:

Don't miss a word. Paul is saying that he is compariing spiritual things with spiritual, and he is talking to people who are comparing things with the spirit of man.

And here is where it just trips-up, the likes of some! But whosoever shall stumble on that rock shall be broken.



And who is this natural man? He is that ‘old man’ who 'is dead’ and doesn’t know it. He ‘is’ dead, in his lack of faith and understanding, as stated Paul. But as also stated Paul in the related context of verses, he (the old man) is dead and doesn’t know it yet. But he can, yes he can, by ‘faith’ he can trust in Jesus and know what it is to be dead!

Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

To walk in the Spirit, one must be sanctified. One cannot walk in the Spirit unsanctified. Therefore in order for one to fulfill scripture, will they wait a whole lifetime? For to some, sanctfication takes that long. For what reason then did he say, "Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh?" I guess it was just to entertain us.
