I couldn't get hittite1963 to give me a brief summary of what he thought "that which is perfect is come" meant (he is probably busy, not a problem), but becauseHElives perhaps you could tell tell me in a nutshell what hittite1963 was teaching there? thanks, eden

Pardon me Eden, I dont mean to interrupt. Hittite1963(Kyle) told me that he will be away for a week or so......that may be why you haven't got a response from him yet.

With love in Christ, Daniel

Hello Eden,

In the nut shell... hittite1963 believes that the canonized scripture is "that which is perfect"...

and that the working of miracles, words of knowledge
and any other super natural occurrence by the Holy Spirit is done away with.

and if you check out Church of Christ doctrine which
is what hittite1963 is ... you will find out that according to their doctrine you are not saved if you are not baptized in water.

Hope that helps....

Church of Christ is a "Cult"...like Mormon, Jehovah Witness, ect....

{Dt.13:1} If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder, {2} and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; {3} thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams: for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul. {4} Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Some information about Church of Christ:

"The religious sect known as the "Church of Christ" has many peculiar and aberrant doctrines that are contrary to the word of God. It is a most deceptive and dangerous cult..."

Thank you, becauseHElives and Carol Swenson. I had no idea that the Church of Christ was relegated, by a number of Christians, to the status of a cult as the Mormons are a cult.

I do not think that the Mormons are Christians, but I still tend to think that the Church of Christ and Jehovah Witnesses still believe enough of the gospel that they still qualify for salvation.

We probably all have some pieces of doctrine wrong; how much doctrine of the gospel has to be wrong before it qualifies as a cult? That part I don't know.

But it does concern me whenever a group of "Christians" claim to have had "another visitation", such as Adam Smith of the Mormon church.

But just to propose and teach that in 1918 or in the 1840s so and so happened, related to the Bible, is more like Bible interpretation than "a visitation like Adam Smith had" which resulted, I think, in some "golden tablets" in the Mormon church?

Other visitations are definitely crossing over into another gospel, but interpretation of what someone thinks the Bible says, like the Jehovah Witnesses and the Church of Christ, I wouldn't be surprised if we still saw them in eternal life with us. But I could be wrong.

the fact that no one individual has perfect knowledge proves "that which is perfect" has not come.

As believers, we know only in part....a believer needs other believers, believers function only as a body...Yeshua said two or more...

as long as we are in these bodies of flesh we will need exactly the same manifestations of the Holy Spirit as THE CHURCH BORN ON Pentecost did.

The Church Age or the Dispensation of the Mystery of the Ages will end only when the "times of the Gentles" is fulfilled....which we are fast approaching.

There is much deception out there, Yahshua said...

Luke 21:8
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

the only hope of not being deceived is not by being smart enough but by the power of the Holy Spirit who lead and directs into all Truth...

you can have the Bible memorized cover to cover and still be deceived without the Power of the Holy Spirit!

Yahweh help us all be ready for the days ahead...
