what was the first sin ?

Disobedience was the 1st sin….

did every other sin come from the first?

Yes disobedience leads man into every other sin…..but Yahweh’s answer is not in obedience to The Law, but in obedience to applying the prescribed Blood offering of the Lamb of God (Yeshua) to each individual heart, then from a new heart mankind has the power, desire and ability to once again come into the presence of Yahweh and obey His will.

In the salvation that Yahweh has given freely through the offering of His own Son, men and women can never forget, the sovereignty of Yahweh and the responsibility of man.

The first sin was committed by Eve, coz she was talked into eating the forbidden fruit, which then she talked Adam into it, when they ate it they were thrown out of Eden, along with a curse, which has been inherited down to the present day. Such as pain in child birth, and having to work. When we are born we are born sinners through what happened, until we are born again, we become a new person in Christ, and we are for given of all sins, past present and future.

God Bless

The first sin was when Satan was filled with Pride (Isaiah, I think) and thought to have dominion over God’s creation. He exalted himself. He thought to reject God from the throne of His heart.

The first human sin was when Eve wanted to have her own control over her choices, dominion over her own life, to the exclusion of God. She demonstrated it by believing Satan (rejecting God from the throne of her heart) and eating the fruit. She became evil by rejecting God’s dominion over her life, the same as Satan.

In the Lord’s Prayer we have all that we need in a prayer. The last line reads “Deliver us from evil.” We think of evil as being the terrorist who would hurt us, or the awful things that happen to children, or tsunamis and such. But evil is in our own heart, when we are separate from God because we want to do it on our own. We want control of His creation, rather than praising Him for His wisdom, control and dominion. It is in this manner that we crucify Christ.
That is what it means to be evil, or 'double', when we are on the throne of our own heart and will have control of our own affairs, instead of recognizing our need for His dominion. Bless God.

Joy2Tworld,
We are for given of all sins, past present and future.

This is all too common mistake people use to teach in regards to salvation.

If this were a true statement then why would John say…. 1 John 1… 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The Apostle is talking to people that have already trusted in Yeshua’s atonement, so why confess future sin if it is already forgiven?

The first sin was certainly Satan's -but this is not to say God did not know it could or would happen -this is a huge subject. Essentially , Satan made himself a God above God -and even tried to stage a coup -leading a third of the angels -over which he had authority, and so deceived -in a war to take over God's throne (Isa 14:12-15, Rev 12:4, Rev 12:7, Jud 1:6). Satan was not Satan(Adversary) at first -but an obedient angel, until he sinned (Eze 28:12-15 [the prince of Tyre mentioned before this being the beast who will get his strength from Satan{Dan 8:24}]).
God knew that by giving new, inexperienced creatures creativity, this power of choice could be turned against obedience -due to ignorance -which has happened -but he had already planned for this -he gave the creation over to futility -but had already planned to wipe away all tears -BUT -it will all have been worth it, because where once we were ignorant and tempted of evil -we will have experienced its horrors -and can then go on into eternity without danger of making a mess of things -then God will make all things new and not call the former things into rememberance!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, becauseHElives. Joy2Tworld had said

becauseHElives then said:

Yes, that is why God makes TWO SUBSTITUTIONS.

The first substitution was Jesus dying for my past sins on the cross:

Romans 3
25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

The second substitution was Jesus rising from the dead so that Jesus through the Holy Spirit can be my substitution inside my spirit, as Paul said, "Yet not I, but Christ who lives in me".

Then, if I sin again, and I will sin again, then if I will CONFESS my sin, God is faithful and just to forgive me my current sins:

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Thus are we cleansed from past sin through the death of Jesus on the cross and we are cleansed from current sin by confessing our sins as believers and God will forgive us our current sins.

with love, Eden
