I have a cruel husband who has cheated on me alot and been to jail most of the time we have been together. We have two children and he left to find us a so called better life. I wasn't a christian when we met. I know the Bible says a man can leave his wife for sexual immorality, but it also says what God has brought together let no man seperate. It also says a man can divorce his wife and nothing about a woman divorcing her husband. I have forgiven him, but I am just tired of being hurt(not physically). I know pain brings a refining fire, but I just feel like a fool staying in this situation. I know that christ can be a husband to me and I don't mind not re-marrying although if I felt it was Gods will I would love to. I want to know what to do.

I believe you are free to divorce him and remarry. My sister divorced her husband because he was a dangerous man. She prayed if it was God's will if we would bring her a Chrisitan man. He did and she has now been married 8 years. It is sad when a marriage ends, but God does not want a woman in a dangerous suitation with her children. Make sure you do not marry anyone who is not committed to God.

1 Corinthians 7

8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I.

9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother has a wife who believes not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

13 And the woman who has a husband who believes not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: for God has called us to peace.

For all practical purposes, your husband departed from you when he began to cheat on you.

Here then what the Word of God says:

15 A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: for God has called us to peace.

Matthew 19:9
And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery: and whoso marries her whos is put away commits adultery.

Mark 10:2
And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife?, tempting him.

Mark 10:11
And he said to them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.

Mark 10:12
And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she commits adultery.

In Mark 10:11 and 10:12, the parenthetical phrase found in Matthew 19:9, except it be for fornication can be added for BOTH the husband who puts away the wife except it be for fornication, and the wife who puts away the husband except it be for fornication.

temporal garment, since in your husband's case there is fornication on his part outside of the marriage, you are free to put him away and free to remarry, in my opinion.

Be blessed and stay saved,
Eden
