A good Topic for fishing? Or a good Topic for debating?

I was thinking about that tonight. What did Yahshua-Jesus say He was going to make me?

Matthew 4:19
And He said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Mark 1:17
And Jesus said to them, Come after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Come after Me...hmmm, and if I don't "come after You", I won't become a fisher of men.

But Yahshua-Jesus never said:

Matthew 4:19 (modified by BORN AGAIN)
And He said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you debaters of men.

Mark 1:17 (modified by BORN AGAIN)
And Jesus said to them, Come after Me, and I will make you to become debaters of men.

Are we fishing or are we debating? Jesus did not say, "I will make you debaters of men"; Jesus said, "I will make you fishers of men".

God bless, BORN AGAIN [Cross]

good point. (not flattery, just glad to see it posted, puts in words clearly Yhwh's Plan of Truth vs the effect of 'human wisdom')

John the Baptist laid it out very well, the keyword being INCREASE:

Joh 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

1Co 3:6
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

1Co 3:7
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Eph 4:16
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

1Th 3:12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you

2Ti 2:16
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Luk 17:5
And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
