Greetings fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

I would ask you to look at the following two verses of scripture taken from 'Acts' and see what you can deduce from them. They seemingly contradict one another at first glance.

Acts 9: 7

quote:
And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one
Acts 22: 9

quote:
And those who were with me indeed saw the light and were afraid, but they did not hear the voice of Him who spoke to me
Some enlightenment would be appreciated.

Many Thanks
Seraph

kouontes men tēs phōnēs, mēdena de theōrountes

tēn de phōnēn ouk ēkousan tou lalountos moi

Likewise, as with the “light” and “no one”, a distinction between the “sound” (original sense of phōnē as in Joh 3:8) and the separate words spoken.

In other words, the Greek makes the distinction between hearing a voice and not hearing the words the voice was speaking.

Bible, King James Version
1 match.

1Kgs.19

1. [12] And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Stop your sillyness.
