Violent video games yanked from Missouri prison rec room

DECEMBER 16--Until the killjoys at Missouri's Department of Corrections stepped in earlier this month, inmates at the maximum security Jefferson City Correctional Center were able to pass their time playing violent video games like "Hitman: Contracts," "Max Payne," and "Grand Theft Auto." Seems that prison brass were unaware that many of the 80 titles in the facility's PlayStation-equipped video game room featured gory, blood-drenched action (activity in which many of the prison's inhabitants engaged while once at liberty). The officials banned 80 games after a Kansas City Star reporter asked about the propriety of murderers, rapists, and armed robbers honing their skills on titles like "BloodRayne." Below you'll find a two-page list of video games removed from the 1,996-bed prison and a list showing all titles originally ordered (the documents were provided to TSG pursuant to a Sunshine Law request).

I believe jails should not be a walk in the park. I believe they should be tough to the point that these individuals would think twice before they do the crime. In this country alone it more like a country club. Go right across the border into Mexico and see the Jails there. The inmates in USA have more rights then the victims of violence crimes. Oh believe me when I tell you like I told my children-if you knowingly break the law-know this I will not bail you out. You will learn the consequences of your behaviour. Just because one is born again doesn't negate the person to pay for the consequences of their behaviour. I remember my son allowed his underage friend drive my vehicle. He got caught. By me of course. I made the consequence fit the demeanor. LOL I made my son and his friend tell his friend's father what they were doing. The friends Father was Judge,Juror and myself advocator. Have you ever grounded an 18 year old. I did. He went out and got himself a job. [hyper] Since then my son graduate college married a teacher and there is something in the oven.

WHY ALLOW INMATES HAVE GAMES, THEY NEED AN EDUCATION
