Please sign the petition to protect marriage. It's free of charge and will only take a few moments of your time.

There are over 350,000 signatures as of this date, 6/17/04 and every signature counts. They will be presented to congress in an attempt to ammend the US constitution. Our voices are very important in this matter. Remember, our democracy is "by the people and for the people".

Please let your voice be heard in Washington.

...and if you really want your voice to be heard, write a (legible) hand-written note to your Senators and Congressional Representative expressing your desires on this issue. One letter is far more powerful than ten phone calls or 50 e-mails because it means you took time to personally express yourself in a direct manner. Oh, and just because your Senator or Rep. is a Republican doesn't mean that they will automatically vote in favor (and vice versa). I've dealt with Congressional Reps and Senators (and their offices) from all over the US; they do read their mail and they do pay attention. I recommend you include a day and evening phone number as well. I got a personal call from Senator Thurmon (himself!) one time because of a letter written by another man.

Be polite, be direct, be specific.
