Special Day of Prayer for Assyrian Christians in Iraq
Sunday, February 16, 2003

An urgent appeal is going out to the Worldwide Christian Community for a day of fasting and prayer for those currently in Iraq.

Urgent prayer is being requested for protection for this small Christian Community, the oldest Christian Nation in the world with a population of approximately 2 million in a sea of 23 million Muslims.

Please pray for The Church of the East that this oldest Church in the world will through this trial experience a spiritual revival and return to its roots as the largest missionary force in the world!

Urgent prayer is also being asked for opportunities in Magazines, Newspapers, TV and Radio to get the world out to the world community that there is such a community in Iraq on the verge of a serious situation.

Between 1914 and 1918 the Assyrian Christian Community went through the Assyrian Holocaust in which 2/3rds of the community was slaughtered.

Urgent prayer is being requested that such a situation does not happen again at this time. Please prayer for urgent support being sent in and that more would be forthcoming!
