I just saw one of the tv preachers. He said, "We are the salt of the earth. Once we are taken out, all hell will break loose."

Well, i thought of it differently. "Ye are the salt of the earth. If the salt loses its savor, it is fit only to be trodden under the feet of men." So.... Do we think we are worth our salt. It is worth knowing, else, might we be trodden under the feet of the coming age, instead of Raptured?

Another comment he made: Jesus is the Light. We do not have the same light that enabled Jesus. We reflect Him. Well.... "A city set on a hill cannot be hid." "Nobody lighteth a candle and putteth it under a bushel." I say we are in trouble if we only reflect His light. Light hardly reflects off of dirt. But we have Him in us. He is the light of the world, and we, if we are transparent, are cities on a hill, or candles not under a bushel. If He is in us, dirt dissipates under the light. That is, if we repent (lovingly now), that light will shine through!

Thought I would write out a something from the Bible that brings me hope.

Daniel 12:1 - 2: The angel wearing linen clothes said, At that time the great angel Michael, who guards your people, will appear. Then there will be a time of troubles, the worst since nations first came into our existance. When that time comes, all the people of your nation whose name is written in God's book will be saved. Many of those who have already died will live again: some will enjoy eternal life, and some will suffer eternal disgrace.

Then it goes on to say' 12:4
He said to me, "And now, Daniel, close the book and put a seal on it until the end of the world. Mean while, many people will waste their efforts trying to understand what is beginning.

Thank you for sharing this with me.

Many people try to pin down the exact date of His Birth. What difference does it make? How does it inform our spiritual journey? It doesn't.

I don't care whether He was born in 6 B.C., or 1997. I'm interested only in THAT He was born. The exact date He was born is irrelevant to the fact of His Birth. The fact of Reconciliation through His Coming. The fact of His Birth/God's Reconciliation through His Birth eliminates the need for any further facts about worldly timing.

At my church, we did this course think it was called Full Flame, from the School of Fire. It was for 8 weeks, and we joined with the another church. This other church have contacts with an African country. This particular night, he read out an email he had recieved. A baby girl had been born, her hands were joined together, as if in prayer, they did xrays and tests to see if they could seperate these hands, they found that it way just a layer of skin attaching the two hands, so they did the sergary on the hands. When they had seperated them, on the palms of her hands was something extraordinary, there was writing on her hand, and the message said: "I am coming soon" That made me jump for joy and i had thoughts going through my head. I was talking to Jesus.

Before the new millennium arrived, people were believing that Jesus would come back, being 2000 years since his birth, that did not happen. I started to have questions going though my head, so a had a conversation with Jesus, he told me to look in the bible to find out his death and resurrecton, I have a time line in my bible, and found the birth of christ is dated to 6 BC, and the death and resurrection is 30 AD. I have a thought that the time is near, I believe he could come back in my life time, if not mine, perhaps my childrens life or my childrens childrens life time, but i always have visions of Jesus knocking on my door and telling me its time.

It's the essential, in Christianity, to speak. After all, speaking is what God did to create the universe!

Relying on the Word, you should always be content. That's what Paul says.

Whenever you are attacked by circumstances, get to know the Word enough that you can rely on It, just as Jesus did, in the wilderness, when accosted by the Devil. In Genesis, God said that, if you do not do well -- that is, what is ungodly -- sin is at the door [gate]. Doing well, then -- that is, what is godly -- guards the gate. Sin, then, maybe at the door, or gate, but it ain't getting in.

So, Jesus didn't have conversation with the Devil, rather, to guard His "gate," He went right to Scripture. That's the proper response.

Watching television, for instance, you can have the wrong conversation with what you see and hear. You can end up justifying going down the wrong road. So, the more Scripture you know, the more Understanding you have, the more you will be a will to rely on the Word to guard your "gate." You cannot do it by yourself, of your own might.

Many of those claiming to be Christian say, "Just resist the Devil and he will flee."

That's not true.

The Devil doesn't listen to you, in your own authority. However, he listens to the authority in the Name of Jesus:

quote:
Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Your first response, in bad situations, is to submit yourself to the Word Which is God. Let God handle it. THEN, resistance will come and the Devil will flee.

The example is...

quote:
Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Only you would say, "Satan, in the Name of Jesus, get thee hence!"

Isn't it something how, if you are truly born again, there's that excitement and enthusiasm and anticipation and a real love for the Lord!!

When I was born again, just over five years ago, I wondered, to the Lord, whether I know enough, and He said that, even with one verse, I can talk about Him. He said that the fact that I am born again is enough to testify and witness, and, as time goes on, He performs and His performance is worthy of testimony and witness, and the more I learn from His Word is worthy of declaration.

It's exciting to read your story, and I know the Lord is excited about it, too! Praise the Lord, I know He's excited!

The more Knowledge -- capitalized to indicate His Knowledge, not men's puny knowledge -- you get, the closer you will be to Him, and He will draw nigh to you.

Yours is wonderful testimony and witness! You need to keep that story handy, with details, to tell others what the Lord has done for you. Telling others, even at this early stage, is God's work of Redemption, and you are now at the beginning stage of being a fellow laborer with Him in His work. Your work is no less than mine.

Thank you, Jesus!

Hi im new

I want to take this oppotunity to help any new christians, also if you need to talk about anything i am happy to listen. I go to a group at church called Celebrate Recovery, i joined it part of the way through the course but i find it a great opportunity to talk to people about my faith, to get things off my chest. Whether im having a good week or a bad week. It helps and i feel better for doing it.

A bit about myself.

I have always classed myself as a christian, my family went to a church and went to sunday school. I joined a choir when i was 8, i loved singing the old hymns. When i went to secondary school, i went to a Church of England school, and got confermed. But i could never be bothered to wake up to go to church. Only out of the blue i would go, the time i would go is during Advent. I love the story about when Jesus came into this world.

A Few years ago i met my boyfriend, i used to go up to his house every weekend, so even when i felt like i wanted to go to church, i chose to see my boyfriend. After a while i started to loose my faith, i even did things i never would dream of like dressing up for halloween. I was getting a bad temper on me i wont go into that. Then this year, i went on the walk on good friday where we walk into the town centre to preach the good news, it was there i broke down, and i was led to this guy who is paster a the church i go to now, and he prayed with me, after that i felt better. Since then i go to the church every sunday except when i go away, i go on fridays. My church has the odd night in a pub room to preach the news to non-belivers, i went to my first one of these events and i stud up for prayer, i wanted all my anger taking out, and for my bad temper to go away. Since then i have been calmer. Now i want to know more about Jesus, i can't get enough. I love it. My ambition is to help non-believers or new believers to get to know Jesus, and to heal people from sickness but im not ready for that one yet. And i want to get closer to God.
