May our Lord have his hand upon the man's family, and give them peace and comfort in this dark hour. I hope that he lnew our Lord Jesus, and that his family will be endowed with faith to see them through.

You and each and every precious one on each Christian BB that I go to are in my heart and my prayers on a daily basis. Often my prayer cannot be specific and individual because of time, but I can love each with the love of Christ, and I can say Father be with each precious one, as I enter the BB.

Psalm 91:
1: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2: I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3: Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4: He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5: Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6: Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7: A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8: Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9: Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10: There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11: For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12: They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13: Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14: Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15: He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16: With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Thank you my Brother for those added Prayers. I had not thought to include the shooter or law enforcement and that is important.

Unfortunately the man who was shot died 90 minutes after being taken to the hospital. I looked up the above link to see if anything new had developed, but the link no longer worked, so I found this one from the Wash. Post:

I pray that the police will find the shooter and take him into custody. I can't help but feel a bit 'un-nerved' to have to be at that shopping center on a daily basis knowing this man is still out there, and possibly in that area. But yes, I DO Trust the Lord! [Wink]

Father I join my prayers with those of my Sister, and give you praises for having her in Your hand and each of her loved ones. We pray for healing for the man who was shot, and pray for the safety of those in the area and for those in law enforcement. Father we pray that this shooter would be brought to justice, and that his heart would be broken, and that he would come to Your Cross of Calvary, and Your salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord. We pray that Your perfect will be done, and for Your love and protection to envelope Your precious children. In Jesus' name.

It’s been quite a day for me

http://www.wmal.com/listingsEntry.asp?ID=306614&PT=NEWS

Well, this has been quite another one of those days for me; one that makes me realize that the D.C. Metro Area is not such a great place! First 9/11 and the Pentagon (my husband worked in a close by office building and watched it as it burned), then when we had the Snipper Shootings a few years ago - I missed being at one of the shootings by 10 minutes. Now this...

First I want to PRAISE GOD that I was not Closer to the events that unfolded and also that no one other then the Gas Station worker was injured. I pray we will Lift up this man and his family as he fights for his life.

I was sitting in my van eating lunch at the McDonalds in Del Marcado Plaza (in Aspen Hill/Wheaton) today between 1:50 and 2:30pm. Around 2:10pm I noticed an unusually high number of sirens in the area. When I looked out the window to see what was going on, I was Stunned by the number of Police cars and Emergency vehicles screaming to the area. I had No Clue what was going on, only that it was something really big and I seemed to be right where it was happening. Police cars came in and out of the parking lot where I was driving all around and behind the small shopping center. Then I noticed the Police helicopter overhead. Obviously, they were Searching for someone. I wasn’t sure if I should leave the area immediately, or sit in the locked van till things calmed down a bit. I decided to sit it out until I had to leave to pick up the kids from school.

When I came out of the Plaza, I saw to the left (which is the way I had to go) so many Police cars I couldn’t believe it. They had the Mobil gas station completely surrounded, that side of the street closed off, and the station tapped off with yellow tape. The Police cars were still driving all over searching… as was the helicopter (this was at 2:30pm).

I went and picked up the kids (mine and two others) and when we drove back down by the area, all was still the same at 3:20pm.

I didn’t know until 5:00pm (when I watched the local news) what had actually happened. It seems at 2:00pm a lone gunman held up the Mobil gas station and after having the money in hand the gunman shot the man behind the counter and got away. The police had put all local schools (Except Stevens! I guess because it’s a private school in a church [Roll Eyes] ) on Lock Down – Code Blue.

As I write this, the children have been released from their schools, but the gunman is still at large. The gas station worker is fighting for his life at Baltimore’s Shock Trauma Unit. Please join me in praying for this man and his family…

Father God, first I want to Praise you and Thank you that more people were not injured in this incident. I ask that you would be with the man who was shot and if he does not know you, that somehow you would reveal yourself to him. I pray for the family of this man, that you would give them comfort and send them help from your children who are near them. I pray that somehow through this tragedy Your Name will be Lifted Up and You will be Glorified in the lives of everyone touched by this event. This I ask in Yeshua (Jesus’) Name. Amen
