David, the board is looking good! I appreciate the investment of time and resources you have made in making this forum available to us, more than you know!! It is a blessing to me, since I am home most of the time alone. I am very excited about the new things being implemented.

The organization looks great!!! I wondered what your thoughts are on combining the news forums into one.
I will get with you before the day is out on the women's forum. Thank you I am excited about that.

I think these are Excellent ideas! The BBS is hard to check out sometimes because it’s so long.
Here’s my two cents in how you might want to consolidate things:
Combine: Bible Topics, Bible Study, From the Word, and Questions into one place. You might call it “All things Biblical” ?? Something like that?
Combine the two News sections (and maybe even the one on Israel into here).
Combine: Prayer Requests, Standing In The Gap, Encourager, and Praise Reports & Testimonies. You could call it something like “Prayer, Encouragement, and Praise”
Combine: Games & Trivia, and Smiles & Laughter… or just do these in the “General” section. You might call it something like “Just for fun”?
Combine: Movies, Music, and Promote Something Christian. You could call it “Christian Entertainment”
I think the Woman’s and Men’s separate sections with Admin permission to enter is an Excellent idea, and I can’t think of anyone better to moderate it then Linda! I also think that Laurie would make an Excellent assistant! (Hey Sis, it was your idea ![[Wink]](wink.gif) LOL)
So you could have one section broken down into:
Women
Men
Singles
Teens
Although I’m at a loss as to what to call this entire section?

Well, I dont know that Sister Salti would like to consolidate her Chat forums, but I would like to see them scooted down so that they dont split the board in the middle as they do because they are not used as frequently and so they leave the board forums kind of out of site, out of mind below the chat forums.
I would like to see the news consolidated to one news location, and think we could combine Music & movies. I think we should take down the homeschool forum because it does not get the traffic it used to and there is not a real homeschool community here. I will be doing some work to my site after Christmas and we can pull it if you like David. My passion is not there so much as it is in the scriptures and in ministry and prayer.
I would love to replace it with a women's forum and I would be willing to moderate if the women would agree, but I also would like to see another of the women in the community join me in moderating. I believe there is a very powerful opportunity for minstry in the women's Forum concept that Laurie has suggested, where entry is restricted so that more personal issues could be discussed.

Personally, I would get rid of all of the forums in Internet outreach and Christian-chats.net, or maybe just consolidate one for each. I would move "general" up towards the top block. I would get consolidate End Time News and Christian News, consolidate Bible Study and Bible Topics, get rid of the Teens forum (never used) and most of the topics under general, except maybe the music or movies one (maybe make one forum for music, movies, and games..all together).
I would add a Men's Forum and Women's forum, set up so people would have to request admission to the forum (perhaps after they have been a member so long or have made so many posts). This would ensure safe places where more private discussions could take place with people seeking Christian counsel on sensitive matters. Linda would be an awesome mod for the womens one if she had time. If she doesn't have time, she may know someone else who would be good. His Grace or Bat Elohim are also great Christian women on our board who may be up to the challenge. For the men's forum, I would nominate Favor Minded, Born Again, and/or Becausehelives. (hahah, look at me trying ot make work for all kinds of people...)
I realize these would be radical changes, so of course take my ideas with a grain of salt and a lot of prayerful consideration!
David, you are awesome to even consider our ideas!

Many of the other forums that I have been on simply archive treads that are older than a fixed time say, 3 months. One can retrieve an archive for researching a subject or even resurrect it for further posts. My suggestion, whatever is feasible as I would agree that the stale threads can go.

Hey... I think the women's only forum is a great idea... but the guys might like to have one too.
I like the thought of a singles forum... but I've been kinda browsing some "singles" sites and it's scary the stuff they talk about. I don't know if there is "safe" ground in an area like that.
I know that as a single mom, I often would like advise from other moms about what I should try with my son, who is severely ADHD, but also in the gifted program. So a women's area would be nice.
I also thought that maybe there could be a forum that dealt specifically with "cults" and "cult-like" organizations. Where specific questions and concerns could be raised. Like the recent discussions on Wicca and the other discussions about the Masonic Lodge. As a former member of a masonic order, I might be able to help others in this area.

I definitely agree with the cutting down and consolidating. When I first found the board, it was very overwhelming and confusing to me. Just my 2 cents.

I have the same problem; I know we are going to add a singles forum, but I would also like to see some consolidations. Maybe others will share their thoughts and I can take them to David all at once. I think the women's forum is an excellent Idea. I will have to find out the logistics of it.

Hey-
I ocasionally find it difficult to browse the board as well I would like, in part due to the plethora of forums we have, many of which are rarely, if ever used. I would love to see some of them cleaned up (deleted) maybe, and a "General" discussion forum added so we can ask where people are we are missing or start a non-Bible topic thread sometime. **EDIT** I just saw that we do actually have a General forum, but it is so far down the page it is rarely used I think.
I also would love to see an admin-permission-required forum for women only some time. This has been a burden on my heart for some time, as I see many sensitive issues with women here who might like to have Christian counsel from other women in a less public environment.
I love this board, so please consider my suggestions as encouragement, and not as criticism. I will not be upset if my ideas are not feasible.
