Amen, amen - thank you all for your prayers. My mom is a Christian and is the reason I am alive today and am also saved. She is the only person (besides my husband) who has never abandoned me in all I went through, and let me just say I put her through hell when I was a teenager. She has remained ever-devoted to me, and I hope I will always be able to show her the proper respect and honor she deserves. Jesus surely blessed me with a sweet mom, and I want her around for years to come.

Father, I offer this prayer of petition for LaurieFL and her mom in the Name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Lord, heal mom of this brain tumor and comfort LaurieFL. Holy Spirit, lead and guide this loving daughter and her mom in this time of trouble that they will make life decisions in your perfect will. May everyone close to mom and daughter be convicted that they will come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour. We will be very careful to give you all the glory, honor and praise for this miracle of healing and salvation. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Laurie, I am sorry for your mother's condition, but hopeful that the Lord is at work in her life with such a huge number of His servents praying for her. I add my own voice of agreement to them. Lord, as in Matthew 4:23, when you taught the multitudes and healed all manner of illness, please touch Laurie's mother--we pray You have yet a great, wonderful plan for her, and that she and Laurie have so much still to share together in life. In Your holy name, Jesus. Amen.

Hi Laurie: I am sorry to hear about your mom's condition. I want you to know that I have prayed and will continue to pray. I am familiar with this kind of tumor because a friend of mine had a child with a brain tumor that grew in this way. I know that this must be very scary for both you and your mom. Laurie: Is you mom born again?

Laurie,
I pray that the Lord would do great and mighty things to your mom and through your mom. That He would show mercy to her and heal her. Though no matter what happens in this situation that the Lord would get glory for who He is. I pray that He would send his heavenly angels and His earthly saints to comfort your mom in her pain and suffering. That your family would be drawn close together throught this siuation and healings would abound not only physically but spiritually as well. Let us know what happens Tuesday.

My mom has a brain tumor that is deemed inoperable or very nearly so, as the only neurosurgeon in the country who *might* be able to do the operation told her he would rather not do it. The bulk of the tangerine-sized tumor resides at the base of her brain near her brain stem (it has pushed her brain stem more than one inch to the side already), but has tentacles that go up into her brain and invade her sinuses, her ear, and are threatening her optic nerve. I call the tumor "the octopus." It is not cancerous, but seems to be malignant - i.e. life-threatening. (Brain tumors are classified differently, and are rarely considered benign).

As we sought second and third opinions, Shands Hospital in Gainesville thought they should do some intensive localized radiation to try to target the critical spots of it, so she went through that for 6 weeks. The radiation made her very ill, moreso than most people and she couldn't eat for many weeks.

Anyway, the hope was that this treatment would stop the growth of the tumor. That is all these educated men and women would dare to hope for! I dared to hope for a miracle and prayed fervently as did many other Christians in her world. I have continued praying as we waited for the radiation-induced inflammation of her brain tissue to go down, so that an MRI could be done to see how it is going.

Well, she has her MRI on Tuesday. The past few days htough, she has had increasing pain in and behind her eyeballs, which doesn't seem to bode well.

Anyway, she told me she wants to retire from her job in march because job stress is too much for her. I worry about this decision, because I think she is being pressured to make it by her controlling boyfriend. It is a tough issue, because she is not yet retirement age really and would have to potentially support herself for a long time. I am in such a poor financial position that I have been relying upon her help ths past year rather heavily, so I worry about my finances as well of course - but mostly, I feel bad because I am an only child and always hoped I would be in a financial position to take care of my mom when she needed it, since she has sacrificed almost her entire life for me.

Please pray for health and mercy for her, for her to have wisdom in making her decision regarding retirement, and for me to find a job or some means of income so I won't need her help and so I can help her as needed.
