Proper family planing is a must as well.
Contraceptives are but a tool in part of that planning between the Godly married.

1 Corinthians 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

Some men are cut, some women. Its not the same as the attack, murder and then the packing of body parts on ice for sale.

 -

1 Corinthians 7
1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

I would like to start out by saying that I am the youngest of nine children. I have 4 brothers and 4 sisters. My big brother has 9 children, and my big sister has 7. My other brothers and sisters have some as well. All in all, I have 23 nieces and nephews. Often times I wonder, what if my brothers and sisters were never born? What if my mom had used the pill, or some other contraceptive device? What if my dad had gotten a vasectomy? One thing is for sure. Many of my sisters and brothers would not be here today (nor would I) if either had come to fruition.

Why do we as Christians uphold the belief that contraception is a good when for the first 1930 years after Christ, Christians considered it to be wrong? Historically, it was the Anglican Lambeth Conference of 1930, which made the Christian denominations begin to vacillate on this ancient teaching. Many people do not know that at this conference, contraception was permitted only under dire circumstances. Christians have now thrown the baby out with the bath water using contraception for any and every reason.

What made it okay for Christians to accept this contra-ception? In english, this means against conception, which can also be interpreted as against life itself. One cannot call themselves truly pro-life if these devices are propagated and used. It is simply just another form of population control, a belief upheld a belief upheld and propagated by eugenicists such as Margaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood)

In 1929, Sanger formed the National Committee on Legislation for birth control just so contraception would not be restricted any more. Is it merely coincidence that a year later in 1930, the Anglicans made it okay for Christians to use contraception? It can be surmised that they did this due to growing social pressure.
We are not called to be such. For God commands us to be "fruitful and multiply". I doubt very much Adam and Eve would have used such devices. In fact, they would probably find it downright odd that it is used today by so much of the Christian population.

The average number of children being born fell from 3.5 to 2.58 from 1989-2009 among Christians. This is a travesty. I have seen many Christians that have one or two children. Some have none at all. I believe that many are interested in spending money, not saving it. This is just selfish. You cannot take your stuff with you. Everything will pass away. But your kin will not. You are not merely rejecting one life, but a whole slew of lives. For they would have had children, and their childrens children would have had children. You are removing legacies. Contraception, quite simply, doesn't make the world work.

Just look at seed for crops. What is a farmer decided to spread his seed onto cement? Any passer by would look at him in shock. They would think him mad. Since seed, after all is meant to be planted, fertilized and grown. Isn't your seed more sacred than this? Onan after all was smited after he wasted his seed. Martin Luther comments on that particular passage in Genesis saying,

"For Onan goes in to her, that is, he lies with her and copulates, and when it comes to the point of insemination, spills the semen, lest the woman conceive. Surely at such a time the order of nature established by God in procreation should be followed."

Calvin also states on this saying, "The voluntary spilling of semen outside of intercourse between man and woman is a monstrous thing. Deliberately to withdraw from coitus in order that semen may fall on the ground is doubly monstrous. For this is to extinguish the hope of the race and to kill before he is born and hoped-for offspring."

To use a condom, a birth control pill, or to become sterilized is Onanism, an abominable act condemned by God.

If you think about it, what makes Conservative Christians any different from liberal Democrats? Both get sterilized. Both have a couple children. And essentially, they both believe in population control, since both use contraceptives like it's going out of style! There is no point to one's Christian faith if one is not being open to life.
Now, have you ever heard a child say to his mother, "Mother, you should not have had me due to financiial insecurity, and mental instability." How absurd this would sound if they had! A child would never say that about themselves, since by nature, they greet life with open arms.

It is sad that many Christians buy these big houses with next to no children to fill them. How quiet these houses are when people enter. How sad it must feel to not hear a the pitter-pattering of bunches of little feet along with joyous squeals that resonate throughout. To give life! What a reward!

As Christians, we should want to make a difference in the world. There is no better way to go against the grain then to be open to life. Christians, after all, are subject to natural law. And being open to life is a natural law. Not all contraception prevents fertilization, but most in fact can cause abortion. All hormonal contraceptives like the pill, the patch, the IUD, depo-provera, and norplant in fact cause abortions. 350-750 million of these babies have been chemically aborted in the United Stated alone! It's baby murder- plain and simple.

Now, I believe most Christians are living in ignorance, not sin, when it comes to believing, using and propagating such contraceptive devices. This is knowledge, and sometimes this knowledge that can literally save lives as I explained in the paragraph above. I believe they have been tricked into believing that this is the way.
But there is another way. If you cannot have children at this time for whatever reason, try Natural family Planning, or the rhythm method. You just abstain from sex during the fertile periods. It should only be used in extreme cases of mental or physical stress, however. And when you are ready to have a child, there is nothing that should stand in the way from giving them life.

God provided for our family, despite the fact that we grew up very poor. But we are far richer, and more blessed than we could have ever dared to dream. Often times I wonder if I never had the friendship of my family. In the short term, it might seem hard and stressful, but in the long term, it is very fruitful. I can say that I am truly living an abundantly blessed life, a life that I wish every one had the chance to know.
