There is a difference between those who are put in authority by God to judge situations and HIS church, and those who do so of their own will -and a difference between judgment to make situations right and judgment to condemn.

Notice that when one in his church sins against ANOTHER -that OTHER first goes to him personally -WHEN IT WAS THEIR BUSINESS -then to others, etc... not freaking out, wildly accusing, plotting against, defaming, etc...

Being gossips, talebearers, accusers, busybodies, etc.. is not the way to go about things... it sows discord and is certain to give such much more to talk about by causing more trouble.

Lev 19:16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor: I am the LORD.

Pro 11:12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbor: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
Pro 11:13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

Pro 18:6 A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
Pro 18:7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
Pro 18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Pro 20:19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

Pro 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
Pro 26:21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
Pro 26:22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

1Ti 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

1Pe 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

It does say...
1Ti 5:19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
1Ti 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

...but this was to them whose position it was -not to every member...

but it also says... Jam 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Many times we come to the conclusion that we either have to adhere to Titus 1:13 "Rebuke them sharply..." or we have to adhere to Gal. 5:22-23 the fruits of the Spirit [love, joy, peace, etc..]. however we must realize that both have to apply! That leaves us with two options. Either we love to rebuke them sharply or we rebuke them sharply out of love.

My friends, as the spiritual head of my household, I will judge the doctrines introduced into my family's presence! I will depend upon the Scriptures to teach me what false doctrine is! I will lean upon the Holy Spirit to help me discern when there are doctrinal problems! I will always try to do this with a love [from God's grace] for my own earthly family and for my heavenly family! If the brethren are being mislead by a false doctrine, as Christians, we all have the responsibility to judge what is of God and what is not. We also have the responsibility to expose their deeds. However, we should be instant in season and out of season to substantiate why we see a teaching as false doctrine.

Don't get caught up in the tug-of-war which says either/or when the Scriptures clearly teach both.

If becauseHelives can substantiate why their teachings are false, we should prayerfully consider it.

Where did you find these quotes? Directly from them please, not from second-hand information.

I personally heard Kenneth Copeland say, that even though Jesus never sinned, he was a sacrifice for our sins, and quoted Hebrews 2:14 Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. Good NewsforAll , I have been on this board since

June 22, 2002

in that time every name I listed I have posted at length why they are liars, cheats, preachers of false doctrine, and false prophets.

David (knowhim) administrator and owner of this BBS call me down when I had posted that Billy Graham said Yahshua was not the only way of salvation , I got his hard mail address and sent him a copy of the DVD were you can listen with your own ears and watch with your own eyes the words come out of Billy Graham's own mouth.

Jimmy Swaggart failed miserably before the Church and the world but he publicly apologized, and to my knowledge has never preach a false doctrine.

I do not put that list of names up there lightly...I pray these people repent. They are leading many people to an eternal hell.

Hello everybody.

I would draw your attention to 1-Corinthians Chapter 5.

It is the account of a man who had an afair with his fathers wife.

To make this story short, Verse 3 states, " For I verily, as absent in body, But present in spirit, have JUDGED already, as though I were present, concerning HIM who has so done this deed.

Here Paul is judging this man's actions. There are times when it is proper to Judge a man's deeds, Or his Teachings.

We don't judge the soul, That is Gods place. But we do judge the words coming out of his mouth.

We do judge his lifestyle,his actions.

There is much false doctrine being fed to the Church today. We must expose the error, and in some cases expose those who are teaching false doctrine.

Because in some cases it can cause someone to loose their soul.

Ken copland is teaching false doctrine when he says, " The Blood of Jesus does not atone for your sin."

That is a direct quote. If a person beleives that they will not be saved.

Therefore that doctrine must be exposed for what it is, False.

Does that mean that Copland is not saved,? While His statement is a serious matter, His eternal soul and destination must be left in the hands of God.

But we must expose the error, For the sake of those around the world who listen to him on a daily basis.

There are others as well whose doctrine does not measure up to the Word of God.

Such as joyce meyers, who says that " Jesus died a sinner on the cross, and actually took on the nature of satan."

And then goes on to say, " But you won't find this in the Bible, It comes by revelation of the Spirit."

No you won't find that in the Bible. And if what you are teaching cannot be found in the Bible, Then what you are teaching is a lie.

And I have done the research. I have spent hours listening to tapes and reading material written by these and others.

Here is a short list where names are given in the Bible of those who have erred from the truth.

1-Tim 1:19-20
2-Tim 2:17-18
2-Tim 3:7-9
2-Tim 4:10
2-Tim 4:14-15
2-Peter 2:15-16
3-John 9-10
Jeremiah 29:21
Jeremiah 28:15-17
Jeremiah 29:30-32
Ezekiel 11:1-4

This is just a short list where names are given.

This is to be done in Love, There can be no room for vengence, There can be no bitterness towards these people.

Pray for them that God will deliver them from this deception. If that is not your motive for calling these people out, then we ourselves will answer to God.

I have only set out to help people understand that we are living in dangerous times, we must be on guard for false doctrine that can dam the soul.

After all, Jesus died to bring Salvation, we dare not let it be lost because we did nothing to make men aware.

BecauseHElives it is a bit disconcerting that you casually make up an adhoc list of 'false prophets,' without probably taking time to do careful discerning research about each one. Case in point - I find it interesting you decided to take one name off after being told some facts about him. How many others could be taken from that list?

Paul always spoke with humility and he didn't even feel as if he were justified to judge.

1 Cor. 4: 1 So look at Apollos and me as mere servants of Christ who have been put in charge of explaining God’s mysteries. 2 Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful. 3 As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. 4 My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide.

5 So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.

6 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] I have used Apollos and myself to illustrate what I’ve been saying. If you pay attention to what I have quoted from the Scriptures,[b] you won’t be proud of one of your leaders at the expense of another. 7 For what gives you the right to make such a judgment? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?

It isn't necessary. It doesn't edify. And as I said in earlier posts:

Jud 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

God judges between the wheat and the tares. Scripture says that many will be drawn away. I will suggest that prayer would be more effective than reproach, reproval and name calling to getting them back in the pasture. Consider this also:

Joh 13:4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
Joh 13:5 After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
Joh 13:6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
Joh 13:7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
Joh 13:8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

Do you understand the significance of this? God our creator washed the feet of the Apostles - His own creation. Give it some thought when you are thinking about how He wants us to behave one towards another.


DO you remember me? I was down there after the hurricane. I camped in the parking lot with a funny looking camper. It was at Christmas time.

Hello artm, I thought I had edited Jimmy's name out of that list, I did not write the article, I just thought it sums up my thoughts as well as I could have worded them myself.

Hi Michael, I have set under the Ministry of Brother Swaggart for over 30 years, I agree that he does not teach False doctrine.

I understand what you mean about naming others. But I discovered that it is Biblical to do so.

Especially if the Error is Important enough to cause someone to loose their soul. I could list probally 30 times or more in the Bible where names were given as it relates to false doctrine.

It is Important not only to know what false doctrine is being taught, But as well, Who is teaching it so that People have an opportunity to escape the deception.

But I must Admit that I had a problem with that for awhile.

If I may, he does not. He preaches 'The Way of the Cross,' putting him in the camp of Chip and others like me. However, one thing that I wish that he wouldn't do is criticize others, or point out that they are wrong in order to make his point. I have spoken to him about this. Last I heard he was still doing it. If only he could see that it doesn't help illustrate the point. But I know what he is meaning by it. Others don't.

The words 'judge' and 'judgment' are like the word hell in biblical terms... hell can be hades/sheol(the grave), tartaros(the state or place of restraint of the sinning angels), or gehenna(the lake of fire).

Likewise, to judge can mean to discern, consider, or to pass judgment upon. To judge whether something is right or wrong -or whether or not a person believes or teaches correctly -is very different than passing judgment...as in taking action against one (which is different than taking action FOR one's self or the body of Christ) or even the mental/spiritual equivalent -as EVERY sin of which we accuse another we are likewise guilty, and where we do not forgive trespass -so will ours not be forgiven. We have all broken every commandment -if you think differently, you don't get it. We are all liable to the gehenna of fire -but for the grace of God. The judging we ought not do has to do with that which we cannot truly perceive, that of which is not our place to even consider, and condemnation of others -whatever form it may take. To try, to mark, to avoid, etc..... are defensive -not offensive -to keep one's self and the body of Christ pure -to do the other is to commit murder in one's heart! Even the right should be done with positive regard for any who might be avoided. We are not to be gossips, accusers, busybodies, talebearers, judges, jury or executioners. The "Judges" of ancient Israel and those of today are a good example of this difference. Then(though God did instruct that certain things be met with punishment), to judge was to consider a matter and make a decision which would be for the greatest good of all. Today, however, though we use the word 'corrections', we focus a great deal on punishment/retribution -vengeance -often not considering what is in the best interest of all.
Even what punishments God prescribed for ancient Israel are part of the purposefully imperfect old covenant. The death penalty/stoning, eye for an eye -all laws given by GOD through Moses -which, also by his authority -we are not to do today. Anyway -I'm rambling..... [youpi]

On that note -let's make sure we are truly of the body of Christ many think they are his, but are not.

|Christians, they were – apparently! And:

2Pe 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

|Somehow they missed the straight and narrow way, though they started out on the right path, and just as the Tribe of Gad deviated, so apparently these.

|And: This is powerful language to be spoken against someone who apparently ‘believed’, or even not (looking at verse 2:20). BUT it wasn't personal. There was no name calling - just an attempt to make the hearers aware of the dangers.

Then it says that:

2Pe 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

|Because:

2Pe 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not;

and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

|Negating the need to do what even the angels would not do.

|I think that we need to speak the truth in love, and pray for these people. For:

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

|I.E. Overcome with temptation and misguidance. Which could happen to any of us. And these are indeed wandering down a questionable path. Amen.

Christians are often told that we are not to judge others but is it true that the Holy Bible tells us that we are not to make judgements? Did the Lord Jesus himself tell us not to judge others? Is it not necessary for us to make judgements every day of our lives? Of course, we do it without question.

What then is the truth? Clearly, the problem is one of making righteous judgement. Surely, as admirable as it may be, the record shows that those who avoid judging the behavior of others are taking the Lord's words out of context. But let us begin with the "hard sayings" of St. Paul because he affirms that "the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good: (Romans 7:12). Paul actually internalizes God's commandments. "For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self," (verse 22). The apostle denounces the idea that Christians, through faith, "overthrow the law". He declares instead that "we uphold the law" (Romans 3:31).

Here is the New Testament record:

Luke 7:43
and the Lord Jesus said unto him: "Thou hast rightly judged."

Luke 12:57
"Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?" (KJV)

THE EVIDENCE SURELY INDICATES THAT CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO MAKE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENTS. MORE IMPORTANTLY CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO BE RIGHTEOUS. WHY? HERE AGAIN IS THE EVIDENCE:

Matt. 7:1-2
"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: (KJV).

"Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you" (NAS).

"If you want to avoid judgment, stop passing judgment. Your verdict on others will be the verdict passed on you. The measure with which you measure will be used to measure you (NAB).

"Judge not, that you may not be judged. For with the same judgment that you judge, you will be judged, and with the same measure with which you measure, it will be measured to you. (LAMSA).

Only in the darkness of the heart, a man accuses.

Try the spirits means the spirits! Judging someone is different than that. I know that judgment is involved to the extent that one is to preserve their own sanctification; but it does not mean to criticize another – in a condemning way. You are not on the throne. He is - unless you are judging. Personally, I will avoid it whenever I catch myself.

[Cross] Having senses exercised to discern between good and evil is for the benefit of one’s making personal choices, not judging someone else.

Here you have made a list that I wouldn’t dare say such a thing about.

People bat the scriptures back and forth to justify ‘themselves’ but:

2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Who are they? By this group of passages we can see that these are they who think that they are justified in something, rather than His finished work. They even appear righteous insomuch that they ‘have the form of Godliness’ but substitute judging for having 'the power thereof'.

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

But those who judge people are the ones who would stand by like Paul, and champion whomever would stone these 'so judged' to death. Then, themselves would be guilty of murder in God’s eyes.

Gal 4:20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

America is falling. Night is coming. It is a sad day, for even the religious are in the dark.

1Jn 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

1Pe 2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

If we are by "commandment" to love all men, how much more they who name the name of Christ? It is automatic darkness to hate and judge. It is good to exhort. Let's face it, some must be drawn away. If it holds, it says that they were not of Him.

A person who is able to discern between good and evil, has at least one of the major marks of spiritual maturity.

"But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil" (Heb. 5:14). W.E. Vine says of the meaning of discern, "a distinguishing, a clear discrimination, discerning, judging; is translated 'discerning' in I Cor. 12: 10 of discerning spirits, judging by evidence whether they are evil or of God. " Strong also agrees that it means to judge.

Those who are unwilling or incapable of discerning or judging between good and evil are in this manner revealing either their disobedience or their immaturity.

The Bible Admonishes Us To Expose Error

We are to TRY them. "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they be of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world" (I John 4: 1). All doctrine and teachers are to be tried according to the Word of God. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" (Isa. 8:20). Every message, messenger, and method is to be judged according to the Word of God. The church at Ephesus was commended because they had "tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars " (Rev. 2:2). The church at Pergamos was rebuked because they tolerated those that held "the doctrine of Balaam, " and "the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate" (Rev. 2:14,15). It is never right to tolerate false teachers, but they are to be tried by the Word of God, and exposed. Of course those who want to disobey the Word of God will seek by every means to avoid this teaching.

We are to MARK them and AVOID them. "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them " (Rom. 16:17). Those whose conduct and teaching contradicts the Word of God are to be marked and to be avoided. This requires discernment and judgment in the light of the Bible. The ecumenicalists, new evangelicals, and compromising fundamentalists will resist any effort to obey this Scripture. They cannot be marked and avoided, unless they are judged according to the Word of God.

We are to REBUKE them. "Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith " (Titus 1: 13). This was written to Titus, because there Were those going from house to house and subverting whole houses with false doctrine (v. 10-16). We are to have NO FELLOWSHIP with them. "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them " (Eph. 5:11). Reprove means to censure, condemn, find fault, rebuke, and to refute. How can we obey this Scripture unless we try them by the Word of God?

We are to WITHDRAW from them. "Now we command you, brethren, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which ye received of us " (II Thess. 3:6). We are to withdraw from those whose doctrine and conduct does not conform to the Word of God. The context clearly shows that obedience to sound doctrine is what Paul has in mind, for he says, "if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet, count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother" (II Thess. 3:14-15). Paul admonished Timothy to "withdraw thyself " from those who "consent not to wholesome words ... and to the doctrine which is according to godliness " (I Tim. 6:3-5).

We are to TURN AWAY from them. Concerning the last days, he says that some will have "a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. from such turn away" for such people are "never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" (11 Tim. 3:5,7). How can we turn away from them if we do not identify them, and this requires that their message be compared to the Word of God. It is the business of the true preacher to: "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine " (II Tim. 4:2). This is usually an unpopular and thankless task but it is the duty of the God-called man.

We are NOT to RECEIVE them into our house. "If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds " (11 John 10, I 1). There is no doubt about who John is speaking about, it is " Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ... " (v.9). By radio, TV, music and literature, false prophets are brought into the homes of many Christians today. Brethren, this ought not to be!

We are to REJECT HERETICS. "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject " (Titus 3: 10). We should reject those who deny redemption by the blood of Christ. There are many who deny this or some other doctrine of the Word of God. If they will not respond to being admonished, then they are to be rejected.

We are to look out for those who preach another gospel. Paul warned about those who preached "another Jesus ... another spirit ... or another gospel" (II Cor. 11:4). How can we know them unless we judge their Jesus, their spirit, and their gospel by the Word of God? Paul called such preachers "false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ" (11 Cor. II: 13). He explains in v. 14-15 that these preachers are the ministers of Satan. The God-called man must be just as faithful today in exposing the ministers of Satan.

Paul warned the Galatians about those who "pervert the gospel of Christ." He also said, "If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." (See Gal. 1:6-9). Multitudes today are preaching a perverted gospel. Those who teach salvation by baptism, or by works, are teaching a perverted gospel. Those who preach a salvation that you can lose, are preaching a perverted gospel. The charismatics, Catholics, many evangelicals, and many fundamentalists (?) are preaching a perverted gospel. Yet, we are supposed to cooperate with them in evangelism and Christian work, according to many today. If we fail to expose these false prophets, then we have betrayed Christ and His gospel.

We are to SEPARATE from them. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch no the unclean thing; and I will receive you " (II Cor. 6:17). This makes it plain. God's people are to come out of apostasy and religious error. How can any Bible believer remain in the National Council or World Council of Churches? How can they remain among compromising evangelicals and wishy-washy fundamentalists?
