Circular Reasoning
can be defined as:

"Circular reasoning: This fallacy occurs when you state your claim and then, usually after rewording it, you state it again as your reason (always being able to return to the first step is being able to re-state what you believe by means of justification. An excuse by reasoning)."

[Confused]

Christians need very much to be aware of how the atheist will resort to this trick so that they may understand how that when the atheist tries to make his claim and then by supporting it further is only returning to step number 1 in circular reasoning.

In other words, stating a claim, and then offering supportive information, facts, or data, after stating it again,in order to justify what you think you want to believe so that others believe it as well, is only an excuse by reasoning.

[Confused]

Some Christian also do this but it is because they are wrong.

Furthermore if you'd like to see how totally sick the atheist (and some Christian!) are:

"Always feeling the need to defend what you believe. This happens on both sides of the issue. When a person (Christian or Atheist) believes something through justification only (not totally convinced). Their need to justify it, until they are convinced of it's truth, becomes strong. And can occupy must of their free time, if finding truth is high upon their list. But to find real truth, staying neutral on any subject is required. But if you want something to be true, then justification is all that is required, and all that will ever be searched for.

Justification is not satisfying where truth is concerned. And is why so many caught up in justification only, and are so driven. They find themselves joining groups with others who believe as they do, each one always helping the other to justify what each of them believe. They find themselves joining in activities where they find even more ways to justify what they believe. Doing search engine searches finding websites, and forums discussing things that put into question what they believe. They work out methods of debating, pre-written answers for each question, are always looking for new ways to justify their belief, and always have a network of other people that believe like them, they can fall back on, just in case they get in over their head. If they cannot debate on a website forum, then they are driven to debate through e-mail. They will even make long distance calls, on their dollar, to debate and justify themselves on a more personal level. Some are so addicted, they will travel several hundreds of miles to do it in person.

Justification only requires that you look like you are right, it never requires you to be right. And always looking like you are right is a mindset that can be addictive to some. And even more addictive to others. How? It gives a person a since of authority, a feeling of power and complete control. One that no one seems to be able to deny. This actually strengthens what this person wants to believe as truth. But because he feels he is close to actually finding it, he becomes even more driven. And each level of being driven requires more time, and more justification."

[Eek!]

Plus - this type of circular reasoning may even result in the poor, deluded atheist or Christian heving to send money to join & support fallback groups - which I know sends a shudder down the spine of any concerned family or church member! Heaven forbid.
