At G7 Last Week, Emmanuel Macron Suggested Creating A Revived Roman Empire And PM Boris Johnson Of England Thinks It’s A Great Idea
At the G7 gathering last week, Macron said that what needs to be created is a revived Roman empire that has more power than either the European Union or NATO. Not only did he say that, but many people who were listening to him, like PM Boris Johnson from England, thought it was a great idea that should be given serious consideration right away.
Emmanuel Macron when he first came to power in 2017, told a baffled press corps that he wanted to reign as a “Jupiterian” president – “a remote, dignified figure, like the Roman god of gods, who weighs his rare pronouncements carefully”.

FROM AL MAYADEEN ENGLISH: According to the Financial Times on Wednesday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, claiming the idea as his own, brought up an idea which he believes to be Europe’s modern take on the Roman Empire: a “European Political Community,” which includes Eastern Europe, namely Ukraine.
“I had this idea back when I first became foreign secretary,” he said, referring to his time in the post from 2016 to 2018. “My view is that we should rebuild the whole concept. I think that Turkey should be there. I think that Maghreb should be there and I think we should basically be recreating the Mare Nostrum of the Roman empire.”
Addressing journalists on their way to the NATO summit in Madrid, he revealed that he had come up with the idea back when he “first became foreign secretary,” revealing that he believed “we should basically be recreating the Mare Nostrum of the Roman Empire.” Mare Nostrum is the Roman name for the Mediterranean Sea during the time when the Romans controlled most of Europe, North Africa, modern-day Turkey, and the Caucasus.
