It is terrible to see that parents have abandon their primary responsibilities by not instructing their child instead of giving into their child. There is definitely a difference in raising a child and nurturing the child. Nowadays there is whole lot of raising but not nurturing. It can be equated as raising a dog like a child, when he or she is old enough send him/her out into the world without substance in knowledge and in wisdom.

I agree 100%...
What the heck is wrong with this world... IT'S A 12 YEAR OLD!!!!
They are forcing this decision on him.
At least let the child wait untill he can make his own decisions.
It sounds to me like the parents are encouraging this behaviour and causing him to act the way he does.
