Interesting! I am afraid that Christmas the way I remember is gone for good. It supposed to be about family and friends but I will be working yet again. The company Tenet owns alot of healthcare facility, they only care about turing a profit. The ACLU is Anti-Christian Liberation Union aka America Civil Liberties Union. AMERICA WILL BE LOST COMING NEXT YEAR. WE WILL BE IN THE WORST DEPRESSION EVER, EVEN GREATER THAN THE '30'S WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT IN THE HEBREW NEWSPAPERS, AMERICA AS A NATION HAS TURNED ITS BACK ON ISREAL LIKE THE OTHER WESTERN NATIONS. Sometimes I don't blame them. You should read what my people have turned too. Most only believe in a concept of spirituality but denying the Holiness of God and his precepts! [Confused]

sorry hon, but if you are against Jesus in Christmas, you have become on the side of ACLU. That is the truth. Next time, you could put that some Churches are not having Church on Christmas Day, but don't put all Churches because that is not the truth.
thanks,
Merry Christmas,
betty

No Betty. I am not deaf. I am very glad that your church is going to be open on Christmas day. So is ours. But sadly many churches are going to be closed Christmas Day.

Betty: I am also no supporter of the ACLU.

My daughter goes to a Catholic school as an ecumenical student. As such she benefits from an excellent education, but doesn't participate in any of the rites or other Catholic teachings.

We're not Catholic. My wife's family is, and my was about two generations ago. But both of us 'grew up' as United Methodists, who are not Catholic despite what some others might claim.

Currently we attend a small baptist church in our town.

Regardless, the point of my post is that we can get carried away shouting each other into Hell, some over Christmas, some over the ACLU. Hey, I myself have deep-seated prejudices against Southern Baptists - something I'm trying to deal with given that I now worship with a Southern Baptist congregation.

Honey, look in the phone book and you can find Churches all over your area, who still think Jesus' birth is special enough to have Christmas Pagents.
Yes, pagents indeed. But they close their doors on Christmas day so as not to inconvenience anyone by having them have to go to church!

It is all about Jeusus you know!

I was visiting my dad one year and the pastor of his Lutheran Church closed the church on Sunday for Superbowl. He knew that people would rather be at home watching the game that evening.

I was furious!

I cant imagine being in a church that claims to celebrate Christ through Christmas and hear that they wont be having church this year because Chritmas is coming on Sunday. How is that Christ is the reason for the season execpt that the season fall on Sunday. What wonderful devotion!

Seriously, we should pray for these who have become misguided about Christmas. I have seen my own family members become so legalistic about God that they lost meaning of Salvation being a gift from God and they think that they earn it by not wearing wedding rings and such things.

I against the ACLU because they fight anything to do Jesus. I am surprised that as a Catholic that you would join the organization.
I think it is cool your child is in the pagent. Being in the Christmas pagent was a great time for me as a child. I usually was an angel. [Big Grin] (of course all the girls were angels and the boys were the shepherds.

Texas Grandma:

My daughter is going to be a shepherd in her school's Christmas pageant. I hope I haven't condemned her to hell by allowing her to do this, although that's probably already happended since she goes to Catholic school.

But at least I'll be right there beside her burning in the fiery embers since not only am I a Christian who celebrates Christmas, I am also a card-carrying member of the ACLU!

Honey, look in the phone book and you can find Churches all over your area, who still think Jesus' birth is special enough to have Christmas Pagents. I am going to two different Christmas Celeberations next Sunday and two different Churches. Not all Christians have joined the ACLU in removing Jesus from Christmas.

Romans 1:
16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17: For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19: Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22: Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23: And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24: Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

--------------------
A Servant of Christ,
Drew

1 Tim. 3:
16: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh..

It surely must be a sign of the end times when Christians who ought to know better expend their energies on beating up on little old ladies whose high sin and crime is to wish us all a Merry Christmas.

Donning their sackclothes they storm Santas Workshop at the local mall. From this prominent perch they beat their chests and wail, their faces covered in tears, "Oh what horrors and evil this Christmas is!" They conclude the day's ritual by pelting all passerbys, Christians and heathens alike, with rocks so that the unbelievers may know the depth of their depravity.

Meanwhile, in heaven . . .

Jesus, left to hold back the tide of poverty, famine and disease all by himself, notices the actions of His truest followers out of the corner of His eye while engaging a demon in single combat. Sighing He makes a mental note to push up the schedule for Armegeddon once He returns to the office.
