I got this in an Email today:
This morning, National Public Radio reported that a new type of ID theft scam is occurring in Minnesota. A person receives an angry call from an alleged "Clerk of Court", very upset because the person did not show up for jury duty. The caller insists that a summons was issued for the person to appear in court for jury duty. When the victim insists that they never received the summons, the caller asks for their social security number, date of birth and address to verify with the information on the jury list. Then the alleged "Clerk of Court" tells them that there has been a mistake, and that they are not the person that was ordered for jury duty. Minnesota Public Radio said that this new scam has been going on in Minnesota for approximately three (3) weeks.
