The Gulf of Mexico Mystery

Michael Miller, according to a Bay News 9 article, has been diving for 20 years. He is quoted in the article as saying what he saw recently while diving in an area between Sarasota and Tarpon Springs, Florida was "death and devastation" in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico unlike anything he has ever seen during those twenty years! Miller is quoted in the article as saying, "Right now, anywhere we go from shore to 20 miles offshore, from Sarasota to Tarpon Springs, we can't find a single creature alive on the bottom right now."
Not a single living creature in an area that large? No wonder Bay News 9's article is entitled 'Gulf of Mexico mystery!'
On a number of occasions in the past I've written commentaries concerning dead zones - oxygen-starved areas of the world's oceans that are devoid of fish. Why? Because I believe there are prophetic implications involved in the phenomena, which I suspect is the same phenomena Bay News 9 and Michael Miller is documenting presently occurring in the Gulf of Mexico.
Bible prophecy tells us a time will come during the future Tribulation Period when every living soul swimming in the world's seas will die. Every last one!
Revelation 16:3: And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
Having read what Bible prophecy tells us is going to come upon the world's seas in the prophetic future places the recent Gulf of Mexico mystery in a brand new light, doesn't it? When we consider what the Word of God says is coming, it isn't difficult to see that what Michael Miller saw is but a foretaste of things to come for unrepentant mankind.
Michael Miller is quoted as making the following statement in the article as well, speaking of the death and devastation he recorded during his dives: "All the coral, all the sponges, all the crabs, not a single living thing, all the star fish, the brittle stars, everything's dead."
As frightening as a story like this should be, most who read it will blindly consider it an isolated incident, failing to realize they're likely seeing a small foretaste of what it's going to be like when God's wrath is poured on the world in the prophetic future due to mankind's ongoing rebellion against Him.
The Gulf of Mexico mystery? It's not much of a mystery to me. It is, on the other hand, a sign of things to come.
