WorldPride 2005 to Be Held in Jerusalem, Organized by the Jerusalem Open House
The recent 22nd annual conference of InterPride – The International Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Pride Coordinators – has voted to accept the bid of the Jerusalem Open House (JOH) to host WorldPride 2005 in the Holy City. Over 150 delegates from 51 cities from around the world attended the conference, hosted by Divers/Cite in Montreal, Canada.
Jerusalem WorldPride 2005 will be the second WorldPride event ever held. The first was in Rome WorldPride 2000. The major theme planned for the event is “Love Without Borders” – a theme central to the JOH vision and highlighted in previous Jerusalem Pride events. WorldPride is a unique event that is decided upon by InterPride when needs are present and is used to bring change where it's most needed, to carry a special message and/or to have a global impact.
JOH Executive Director, Hagai El-Ad, expressed his hope that “Love without Borders: Jerusalem WorldPride 2005 will bring a new focus to an ancient city through a massive demonstration of LGBT dignity, pride, and boundary-crossing celebration. In these times of intolerance and suspicion, from the home of three of the world’s great religions, we will proclaim that love has no borders.” He added: “In the 22 months leading towards Jerusalem WorldPride in August 2005 we are committed to work closely together with InterPride, the American Friends of the Jerusalem Open House and a broad coalition of Israeli and international non-governmental organizations in order to insure that WorldPride 2005 will fulfill our vision for a message of optimism, tolerance and hope from Jerusalem.”
“WorldPride in Jerusalem is important for the Pride movement,” said Suzanne Girard co-president of Interpride. “We want to send a clear message out to the world that our struggle transcends borders and encompasses all faiths. Through this celebration, we wish to embrace all world communities in the search for recognition and acceptance.”
Jerusalem WorldPride 2005 will gather Israelis, Palestinians and people from all over the world to bring a message that is needed throughout the Middle East and beyond: human rights transcend cultural and ethnic boundaries, that differences can be respected peacefully, and that love knows no borders. WorldPride 2005 will bring thousands to Jerusalem to confront preconception with reality, prejudice with an opportunity for understanding, in a way that will capture the attention of the world.
WorldPride 2005 has already gained support from a wide array of prominent leaders, including: The Rev. Elder Troy Perry, Founder & Moderator, Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches; Faisal Alam, Founder and Director, Al-Fatiha Foundation (for LGBT Muslims); Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, Senior Rabbi, Congregation Beth Simchat Torah, New York; Bassem Eid, Executive Director, Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group; Anat Hoffman, Director, Israel Religious Action Center, Jerusalem; The Rev. Michael W. Hopkins, President, Integrity USA (Organization of LGBT Episcopalians); Lorri Jean, Executive Director, Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Service Center; Saar Nathaniel, Council Member, Municipality of Jerusalem; Einav Zilber, Board Member, Community of Lesbians and Feminists, Israel; Eliezer Yaari, Executive Director, New Israel Fund; Rachel Benziman, Executive Director, Association for Civil Rights in Israel.
The JOH provides direct services to the local LGBT community, and advocates for social change to promote tolerance and pluralism in Jerusalem. The JOH was founded in 1997 as a non-profit agency, and in the space of a few years it has become one of the Middle East's leading LGBT service and advocacy organizations.
InterPride began in 1981 when Lesbian and Gay Pride organizers met during a leadership conference. Today, more than 18 million people attend events planned by the over 75 InterPride member organizations. The conference is held in a different city each year.

When an agenda isn't an agenda, but is an agenda!

Agenda defined: A list of matters to be taken up (as at a meeting). An order of business.
For a long time, conservatives, particularly conservatives of the evangelical Christian variety, have been suggesting homosexual activists have an agenda they're presently working on - one that desires to subvert the will of Almighty God, as documented in the Bible, concerning the practice of the homosexual lifestyle.
I recently had the occasion to visit a practicing lesbian's website, as a result of looking for a particular piece of information using a popular search engine. The politically active young woman, who had written a number of commentaries not unlike the ones I write here, asserted, in one that immediately grabbed my attention, homosexual activists do not have an agenda in relation to furthering their cause, which is, bluntly, to turn America (and the world) into a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah, in open defiance of the Word of God.
Are you keeping up so far? Conservatives and evangelical Christians believe homosexual activists have an agenda. Outspoken members of the homosexual community say they don't. As such, what do we have so far? An 'agenda' that isn't an 'agenda', assuming we lend equal credit to each side's position of the debate.
So, do homosexual activists have an agenda they're aggressively working on or are conservative activists - those in favor of protecting the institution of marriage and the composition of the biblically-defined family - exaggerating in order to deny homosexuals the "rights" they believe they are entitled to? The answer may lie in an American Family Association article entitled, ironically, 'Homosexual Groups Unite to Push Agenda'.
The article opens by stating:
“For those who ridicule the whole notion of a homosexual "agenda," a recent press release from a new coalition of lesbian, "gay," bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT) groups was unwelcome news.”
Unwelcome news indeed! Why? Because this means, in spite of what many homosexual activists have strongly denied, the homosexual rights movement has an agenda after all, proving conservatives have been 100% right in their suspicions all along. Imagine that!
The article states the press release, apparently composed by someone representative of an alliance of 22 gay and lesbian organizations across the nation, spoke of a "shared vision," which the American Family Association article states includes the legalization of same-sex marriage, the continuation of promotional efforts throughout the nation's public school systems, the inclusion of "sexual orientation" in federal hate crimes and nondiscrimination laws, and an end to the ban on homosexuals in the military.
When does an agenda that, allegedly, isn't an agenda officially become recognized as an agenda? I'm thinking right now! How about you?
The article states the press release goes on to suggest pro-family groups are confusing, distorting and subverting the public debate, even while homosexuality continues to become more acceptable in the hearts and minds of the American public - a direct result of the agenda homosexual activists are pursuing - and lying about.
Bible prophecy states the world is going to be as it was in the days of Lot, who lived in Sodom in the days leading up to its destruction, at the time of the Lord's return. As such, it seems highly likely America and the world's "tolerance" of homosexuality is going to continue to rise, much to the delight of homosexual activists and "open-minded" liberals everywhere, leading the world closer and closer to the Tribulation Period and Almighty God's judgment!
Something we need to bear in mind at all times concerning agendas: Whether it's furthering homosexual rights, encouraging abortion, stirring up war, aiding terrorism, spreading hatred, bringing violence, twisting young minds into horrible states of depression, or luring people into abusing drugs and alcohol, evil is out there and evil - every power in the heavenlies and on earth that seeks to subvert the will of Almighty God - has an agenda!
Ephesians 6:12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Whatever God tells us not to do, "spiritual wickedness in high places" is supportive of seeing us do. That's Satan's agenda.
