My second question is this: I am feverently watching and praying for the return of Christ and I know everything points to his returning soon, but people have been saying it will be anytime now since my grandmother was a child. So what makes us think we are any closer now than they were then?
One major prophecy that shows that it is very near was Israel becoming a nation again in 1948...Prior to the fullfillment of this prophecy it was taught that Israel wouldn't literally become a nation again and that it would be a "spiritual" Israel involving born again believers...They probably taught this because they couldn't see how Israel could actually become a nation again with the people scattered everywhere and such a thing had never happened before...

The Bible talks about an army of 200 million being involved in a war killing a 1/3 part of men...For the first time in history this is possible with China claiming that they can put 200 million men on the battlefield and is verified by the CIA factbook.

For the first time in history it is possible to have a cashless society and the technology simultaneously exists to link everyone to to their bank account by puting a tiny chip in a persons skin.

The Bible talks about the drying of the river Euphrates to prepare the way for the kings of the east to invade Israel..In 1991 Turkey built a damn that can stop the flow of the river.

The rebirth of the Roman empire (EU) that existed at the time that Jesus Christ walked the earth..In 2004 they adopted a constitution for the first time many years.

The Bible says that the antichrist will confirm a covenant with many reguarding Israel...The urgency for peace between Israel and the Palestinians is evident with it making the news every day and world leaders making it a number one issue...There are conflicts everywhere in the world but the entire world is worried about a nation that is about as big as the state of Rhode Island. Strangely enough it is the revived Roman empire (EU) that is pushing the most for some kind of peace deal to go through...The antichrist is thought by most prophecy teachers to most likely come out of the EU.

There's so much news that points to events leading up to Bible prophecy today...The key to look for is when some kind of peace deal is confirmed by the "international community" between Israel and the Palestinians known as the confirmation of the covenant...When that happens we may not even be aware that it has ocurred.

So, there doesn't seem to be a way to know for sure just how long until certain specific events happen but things are lining up for the specifics to actually occur...It could stretch out for a while but right now it doesn't seem like it could.

God’s Wrath is poured out on the Earth – Rev 16

(in v.15 we hear Jesus warn us: 15Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.)

The (W)hore of Babylon is revealed along with the Beast and 10 horns – Rev. 17

Jesus and His Saints Reign on (this) Earth for 1,000 years – Rev. 20:4

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Satan is released from prison after 1,000 to deceive the nations again and gather them together for the Final Battle (this is where Gog and Magog are referenced.) – Rev. 20:7-9

New Heaven and New Earth - Rev 21:1-5

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

--------------------
Psalm 119:104Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Revelation 20:7-10 states that at the end of the thousand years Satan will be released to bring temptation to the 4 corners of the earth, and will gather followers to bring battle to the Holy city. Fire will rain down upon this army, destroying them, and Satan will be cast into the eternal Lake of Fire.

After this, the final judgement takes place at the Great White Throne (Rev. 20:11-15).

Read chapter 21 for what happens next. A new heaven and a new earth will then be put into place (ya got me if you know exactly what that means), with a new Holy City of Jerusalem where God will live with us!

I love this verse.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Hallelujah!

Hi my name is Sandy and I am a new member here. I just have a couple of question that I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on for me.
Ill start with my big question first. It concerns the coming kingdom. Its stated that Satan will be bound for a thousand years and that we will with the Lord for a thousand years in the coming kingdom. But what happens after the thousand years and when Satan is unbound? Does the world start over? Is Satan released to tempt us? I cant find these answers anywhere.
My second question is this: I am feverently watching and praying for the return of Christ and I know everything points to his returning soon, but people have been saying it will be anytime now since my grandmother was a child. So what makes us think we are any closer now than they were then?
Thanks for any light you can shed.
