Only God can help us.
We get our daily paper delivered, it arrives just before 6 AM and I am always waiting for it, if in fact I haven’t already left the house to make a meeting some place elsewhere in Israel. But what I am trying to say, every morning with the exception of Sabbath I open the front page with great hesitation wondering where these Islamic monsters struck at us while I was sleeping. How many of us died at the hands of an Islamic brainwashed youth that has proud parents for their act of Islamic homicidal, suicidal insanity.
This morning I opened the paper to find out that a suicide bomber killed Gadi and Dina Esther Levy, in Kiryat Arba near Hebron. He ran out of a cemetery wearing a white shirt trying to look like a Yeshiva student, IDF soldiers shouted for him to stop but before they could reach him he was beside Gadi and Dina as they were walking and blew himself up.
As horrible as this was, and not any ones favorite way to begin a day them comes my second act of torment every morning. Turning on the TV to check the Israeli news to see if they have struck since the printing of the newspaper the night before.
This morning only an hour earlier I learned that two more suicide bombers struck at us killing at least 7 and wounding many. It was again a bus full of Israelis on their way to work, beginning their work week after the Sabbath. In north Jerusalem on what is called French Hill, as I looked at the pictures on the Israeli TV and seen the bodies and body parts scattered over the street once again a part of me died as well. Asking myself the age-old question we Jews have ask millions of times. Why Lord, what have You chosen us for, to suffer and be murdered at the hands of ever generation? For this we have been chosen, and if so could You tell me for what purpose? Then of course I quickly tell God that I know He is sovereign and I know His ways are not mans ways. That I love Him and know some things are just not for me to understand. It is at this point that I always think of the Prophetic Word and that all these things must come to past before the anti-Christ or for that matter the Messiah Himself will return. But then almost as a footnote I say, but God it’s Your Word you could have written it differently. And once again God allows me that last word and gives no response.
There was a second suicide bomber as well this morning, he was stopped at an IDF checkpoint near the bus bombing as well, and he blew himself up trying to kill some IDF soldiers but failed only killing himself, thank God.
Just think this day is still young, it is only 8: am.
All the above with the backdrop of the media showing the meeting between Ariel Sharon and Abu Mazen. A meeting no one expected anything to come out of. We here in Israel knew that Sharon had no choice but to hold the meetings in order to satisfy George Bush and the EU.
Can you imagine what would happen it Ariel Sharon told George Bush that he must meet and negotiate with Saddam Hussein, or Osama ben Laden? Or if the United States had a single day like this day only to be told that they must not go after the Terrorist? That in fact, they can’t even touch the leader.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for our son Joel, for all the IDF soldiers and all those who have come to fight the Islamic enemy. Pray for this ministry and your part in it. Shalom, jerry golden
