Acts 16:
6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, 7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. 8 And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
These passages could be applicable of God closing a "door", and then another door is opened, according to His perfect will.
You are both correct.

I think it is a made up term coming from experience. You lose a job and God opens up a better job. Your husband leaves you and God provides a new husband who is a Godly man. Is it in the Bible? no but people have seen it in action. betty

I've hurd this statement, "God never closes a door without opening a window" and just can't find it in the text but do find.
John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
So at best this statement, "God never closes a door without opening a window" could only be applied to a prison door being closed on ones freedom that a window of opportunity could be opened for one to share the gospel.
Which is Biblical.
Paul was imprisoned by the Roman government, but as the prison door closed on his freedom, a window of opportunity opened for him to share the gospel with members of Caesar's household (Phil. 4:22).
What happened with Peter? No windows here. Angels reopened the doors that had been closed.(Acts 5:19 Acts 12:6)
What do you think?
