Sadly, I have found with me, when I was physically able to do more, I did not have the heart I should have had for working for God. Now, I feel closer to God but am often hindered by my disability. betty

FEELING INADEQUATE? He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! Psalm 147:3-4(NLT) There are many mornings that I awake with a feeling of inadequacy and questioning myself, "am I doing all that God wants me to do". There's a fine line between feeling inadequate and anxiety. The most important thing that we have to keep in mind is whether or not we are identified as a child of God. This in itself will determine our eternal destiny and not all the things that we think we should be doing. We become anxious when we don't take the time to see what God's word has to say about what we're feeling. If God knows the number of the stars, which are mere matter, and calls them all by name, how much more does he care for us who were created in his image? He knows all about our feelings and he cares. Focusing on God's word is still the best medicine for whatever is troubling you. The stars will fall from the sky one day, but they are not God's major concern, we are. Are you feeling inadequate today? When this feelings overtakes you, maybe you need to not place so much emphasis on "doing" and concentrate a little more on "being". Our most important quality to God is not what we do for him, but what we are to him. When we get the "being" part properly identified, then the "doing" part will take care of itself. Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, Matthew 6:28. Are you toiling and spinning trying to gain Gods acceptance, or are you just being what God wants you to be?
