On my way walking home from jogging and having dinner, I gave a homeless man $5, but that only left me with $7 cash.

After that, along the way I went into the used book store and looked thru the Christian section where I found two books, both $4.95, for a total of $10.

So he said I could pay with my credit card, which I did, but the system would not come up for some reason. So he turned back to me with my credit card and I said, "I do have $7 in cash, do you want to take that?" He sighed and said, "oh, allright" and so I got both books for $7. I thought to myself, "Oh, thank You, Lord"! Another $3 saved ...

Last evening, I had stuffed my big coat into a small backpack and on top of that I had put my money bag, and then I had zipped it up, with the zipper joining at the top.

It was late evening and dark, and I began to jog/run for exercise with the small backpack on my back, while listening to my Christian CD Sony walkman with my headphones.

But unbeknownst to me, while I was running, the pressure of the big coat inside the small backpack began to force the zipper open little by little.

And suddenly, while I'm running at night, I feel something hit my heel, and I look back and it is my money bag which had now fallen out because of the opening zippers, and PRAISE BE TO GOD, that money bag could EASILY have fallen anywhere else BUT my heel ...

but the Lord made it hit my heel so that I turned around to see what that was, and I went, "wow!!! it's my money bag". What a close call, and thanks be to God, if He helped me, that He made it hit my heel WHILE I WAS RUNNING in the dark, because if it had fallen anywhere else, I would have never known that my backpack had unzipped from the pressure and my money bag would have been .... uhhh ... I would have been stunned to find that it was no longer where it should have been.

Thank You, Lord, if You helped me!

Last night at 1 am in the morning my left front tire blew out on the freeway. But the Lord caused it to happen, not in a turn where my car would have dangerously spun out, but on a nice stretch of freeway that was straight and full of artificial light, so that it was as safe as possible.

Thank You, Lord, for protecting me and to make it happen in a safe place, so that now I have safe new tires in front.

Ahhh ... blessings from God ...

I have this one tenant who was bugging me because he was unemployed and he would sit for hours on the balcony (where I also wanted to sit) and play rock & roll on the radio and drink beer ...

So I recently prayed the Lord to PLEASE give him a job so that he's not around all the time ...

Did the Lord answer my prayer, or WHAT!!! After I prayed the tenant found, not just a job, but a job as a taxi cab driven and he is not gone out of the house for 18 HOURS EACH DAY, coming only home late at night to sleep for 6 hours and then he's off again ....

O Thank You Lord, You are THE BEST!!!!

I have one of those old-style red steering wheel security locks that lock the steering wheel in place (the name escapes me right now).

This lock has a key with four sides or teeth to it, and the key hole also has four sides, and four sides or teeth of the key have to match the four sides of the key hole.

Each of the four sides of the key has teeth on it, and the key goes in ONLY if all the teeth of the key are put in the key hole so that the teeth of the key MATCH the teeth inside the key hole.

So normally I have to stick the key into the hole and see if I have the right teeth lined up, and if not, I have to rotate the key until I find the key teeth that match the teeth in the holes.

So sometimes I get it right the first time, but most of the time I have to try twice, three times or four times to finally find the right lineup.

What is amazing is that I am now on a streak of 10 TIMES when the key has gone RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, I even kissed the key before I tried to put it in today, and sure enough, it went in on the first time again, now for 10 times in a row! Unbelievable.

What? Is it going to go in 12 times on the first try for the 12 apostles? Or is it going to go in 24 times on the first try for the 24 elders? Or what? LOL

Yesterday something had rolled off the bed and onto the ground and I did not know that it had rolled off the bed.

Now, on that side of the bed is a very narrow "walkway", and I normally don't go through there. But yesterday after that item had rolled off the bed onto the ground, it had fallen into that narrow passage way.

Later that evening, God had me walking thru that narrow passageway BAREFOOT so that my bare foot STEPPED ON THE ITEM that had fallen in the narrow passage way, and I looked down to see what it could be, and it was the item that had fallen off the bed!!!

I'm telling you, God is GOOD! This is happening to me all the time now, it's amazing!

bluefrog, WildB's opinion regarding your testimony how God has blessed you ought not stop you from testifying about it:

Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

If a child receives some blessed gifts from his father, is that child now "trying to get a high place as {WildB} calls it". Of course not. The child is just very thankful to have received all these wonderful gifts, and so are we:

Luke 17
16 And he fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks: but he was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

18 For none of them returned to give glory to God, except this stranger.

Be then strange as a stranger, bluefrog, for the other nine did not return to give glory to God.

Today I had to find a flex fiberglass pole with an orange safety flag flying on top, for my stepfather's senior scooter.

And when I started out in my car to go look for this, I had a strong sense to "just let God guide me where I had to go to get them".

So I first went to Medical Supplies, thinking they might have wheelchairs and therefore some of these poles.

But they didn't have them but the man behind the counter said to me, "But in our BICYCLE store at so-and-so, we have several".

So I went to the bicycle store, and initially a frown appeared on the forehead of the clerk when I asked for a flexpole with an orange flag on it.

But another clerk overhead my request and they went TO A CLOSET in the back and brought a BEAUTIFUL FLEXPOLE about 8 feet tall, just the right diameter, and it was ONLY $5.99!!!!!

It was so beautiful and FELT SO "God-given" to me in that moment that I said, "I'll take another one just in case this one gets stolen", and a customer said, "Yeah, you just don't know now a days". [Razz]

So for $12 I got to TWO SUPER UNBELIEVABLE flexpoles and it all felt TOTALLY LIKE God.

I could have searched "all over my city" to EVER find those kind of flexpoles and here, ONE, TWO, it was DONE! I couldn't believe it. What an amazing God we have.

Another blessing today. In the outdoor display, a pair of Nike running shoes were marked down from $120 to $75. I went in to buy the pair of Nike running shoes for $75, but instead she charged me $65. When I mentioned the disparity to her, she said, "They are $65." That WAS FOR ME.

So WildB, if NOTHING is FOR ME, as you seem to imply, how is my Father God ever going to get anything TO me if I adopt the attitude that NOTHING IS EVER FOR ME?

Stop your sillyness.

Thats not what posted. I said "IF" you were a TRUE friend you would of helped him to fully recuperate to where he could ride his bike.

I further said that you think yourself a better creature than your friend because he has not come to the fullness of Grace, so therefore you seam more entitled to things left behind by sickness and pain.

Not Biblical..The desires of ones heart does not come by the hurt, pain, or sickness of another creature.

Have you noticed this whole post is about "YOU"?

Is there not another section of the board that this can be posted?

Also ,

Wheres Jesus and taking up another mans burden?

Rom.12

WILD B...Don't you think your comin down pretty hard on EDEN ?

From what I got from his story he didn't wish anything bad on the owner of the bike or anything else. Nor does he say that the thinks God caused the stroke.

Things like this happen and surely it is not because of sinfulness. If the man had a stroke and didn't want to ride anymore that sounds practical, having ridden bikes. Bikes are also good for causing prostate cancer.

More blessings from God happened.

A bad tenant of ours had moved out and I had inherited some of his stuff, among which I found a metallic purple water bottle holder for a road bicycle.

I recently bought a road bike from my friend, and the water bottle holder on it was made of a nice chrome. But where it was located was a beautiful lengthwise purple stripe on the tube of the bike, so I realized, "Oh, this metallic purple water bottle holder" which I inherited from my tenant, "WAS FOR ME": it was a gift from God.

But I still had no water bottle. But then I went to the market and looked in the "close-out rack", as I often do, and lo and behold, there was an aluminum metallic green (the bike is aqua green with purple stripes) and I said, "that WAS FOR ME".

But the metallic green water bottle had no price on it, so I took it to the manager and she started to walk back with me and the bottle to the closeout rack, and I said on the way, "I would buy it for $3", and she said, "That is just what I was thinking", and so we returned to the cash register and I paid $3 for it.

My sister later told me she bought hers just like it on sale for $17.95. But the point is, "that bottle WAS FOR ME". And now my bike is complete.

Unbelievable. Another blessing happened today. I bought a month pass for our local swim center, but I had only been there 3 times because the jacuzzi was so chlorinated and I smelled like chlorine for 2 days afterward.

So that chlorine discouraged me from going to the pool. But tonight I went to the pool after it was already dark outside and the air was cold outside the water but the water itself was semi-heated in the main swimming pool.

So 15 minutes into the swim, the main lights go off and everybody was ordered out of the pool, and they said it might take "20 minutes" before the lights were back on, and everyone was shivering a bit outside, waiting.

So I took my stuff closer to the office thinking to wait in there, when I passed what I thought was a kiddy pool or a handicapped pool, because I had never gone in there.

It still had all its lights on and there were a few peope in there so I went in for the first time ever to see what that pool.

It turned out a wonderful 50 foot by 50 foot square EXERCISE pool, 6' feet deep by 3'-6" feet deep and HEATED much better than the main pool, but barely chlorinated!

It was wonderful!!! I luxuriated in this square pool for 2 hours. What is amazing about this pool is that the pavement and the water are on the SAME level, while in the main swimming pool the pavement is much higher than the water level.

So in this new square pool I could lean on the edge of the pavement and rest on the edge of the pavement, direclty from the warm water, and it was unbelievabley relaxing. I luxuriated in this pool for 2 hours and now I want to go back a lot more to that pool.

But look. Because God turned the lights off above the main swimming pool, I ended up finding this wonderful side pool that I did not know existed. But God knew about the side poole and God had to turn the lights off for me to find it. Isn't our God wonderful???

And yesterday, the blessings continued. I needed two car-type batteries for my stepfather's handicapped scooter, and the store had told me that they were $86 each, or $172 for two.

But when I got to the store, the owner told me that he was all out of those batteries. I went back to the car but could not find my carkeys.

I was still there 3 minutes later and the owner calls to me, Hey, I found a couple! Okay, that would not have happened if I had not lost my keys.

So then he asked me where I got the scooter and I told him from my stepfather who passed away. Then he said, Oh, in that case, let me hook you and me up, JUST GIVE ME $140 (instead of $172).

And I went...uh, okay, smiling again that God had done it again. Unbelievable...it's been going on for months now like that...

I can just picture Jesus with a big ole' smile on his face saying "He figured it out".

It's a time for Thanksgiving.

How many time do you suppose that things like you spoke of have happened to all of us and we just poo poo'd it as a lucky break ?

That like so many other situations can be turned over to Him and left to be worked out by him. Your asking sets it into motion and your trust creates an ending. I think He likes setting up surprises. Jesus must have an outstanding sense of humor for putting up with us all these years.
He has one on us too because he knew us before.

So I got this great road bicycle, but it was missing its water bottle, and the water bottle holder was chrome.

So one of my tenants moved out and abandoned his stuff, and after the requisite period, I inherited his stuff.

And among his stuff, I amazingly found a purple metallic bicycle water bottle holder, and it perfectly matched the purple metallic stripe in the bike's paint job by the water bottle. So I said, That is God's blessing for me, and I replaced the chrome with the purple holder. Perfect.

But I still had no water bottle. I was thinking about going to the "dollar store" to get a purple or metallic green plastic bottle (the rest of the bike is metallic green) ...

But before that happened, I went to the supermarket and there in the closeout bin was... a metallic green water bottle made out of aluminum with a black molded screw in cap. Because it was out of the box, the manager sold it to me for US$3. It was for me. My God had put it there for me.

Now my road bicycle is complete. The LORD God of Israel and Jesus have put their finishing touches on it, praise their holy Name.

Giving tithe is something else that puts a smile on your face. Not just tithe but other ways of giving as well.

No, he did not take heed. If he were to die now, he would "die in his sins" without Jesus covering his sins. So far he does not believe me:

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah said, LORD, who has believed our report?

What a miracle. I just read an account of a Christian ministry in the Seattle/Pugent Sound area. Listen to this (in my paraphrase from memory):

This boat (mercy ship) of theirs needed some 6-inch saltwater valves which had to have brass valves and seats, but they "had been praying for several months already for these", and the ship wasn't going to sea without them.

So one day the ministry founder says to his wife, "let's just go take the ferry back and forth so at least we'll feel like we're on a moving boat".

And she says, "no, let's go walk in the forest". To compromise he says, "let's take the ferry to the island and then walk in the forest on the island." Agreed.

On the island, she is wearing her favorite white pants, but, it being Seattle, it rained recently and there were puddles everywhere on the trail. At some point, she slipped or tripped and fell **** -first into the puddle.

She got up all muddy and would have to go back on the ferry all muddy, so the husband grabbed her scarf and said, "sit right here, and I'll be right back and get some water into this scarf and let's see if we can get some of this mud out".

So he clambers down the slope to the back end of a shipyard and dips her scarf into a hollow of a piece of metal, and turns to go up the slope again, when...

He hears a loud voice in his head or outside, he's not sure, which said, "wait what was that?" and he turns but sees no one and starts back up the slope wondering what that was when the voice spoke a second time, "what was that you dipped the scarf in???", and he returns to the dipping hollow and sees...

That he just dipped his wife's scarf in a pallet-full of six-inch saltwater valves with brass valves and seats!!!!

Ain't God good?

Blessings from God...

I was in the gas station today, waiting in line, when the man in the car next to me got out and put on his tie using his car mirror.

And just when he turned his car mirror toward his face, the Christian CD that I was listening to in my car used the word, "mirror" at exactly that same time.

I laughed (LOL) and said, "Thank You God for showing me that You are there with me".

Blessings from God, it's one after another right now.

Is it because I'm giving of my time to this BBS? I don't know, probably that and more? But all I know is that God has been blessing me with some really nice things lately.

mirror, mirror, on the car, Who is the Greatest of them all?

It is not likely that God caused this non-christian friend of yours to have a stroke so that you could obtain the desire of your heart.

It is more likely a wake up call to your non-christian friend so that God could obtain the desire of His heart, which is to save your friend, for He would have that no one should perish.

And what about my gold watch? One day another friend bought a used golf bag at a yard sale, he can't remember where, and it sat around until one day he examined the golf bag closer and he found a gold watch in it.

Now, it so happened that this friend does not like/use watches, because if he liked/used watches, he would surely have kept this beautiful gold watch.

So he offered it to me and I was able to buy this golf watch, which is worth at least US$1,200 for US$160. It is a gorgeous watch.

Now, I see God in all this. In order for God to get this watch to me to whom God wants to show favor (say, because I've been helping to preach/teach about the gospel), God first of all put that watch in that golf bag sometime before that, and then God made my no-watch-using friend drive by the yard sale and buy the golf bag, and then find the watch and he sells it to me.

That's my God, He keeps blessing me like that.

A blessing from God to me, or...? For a number of years I have had my eye on an US$1,800 racing bicycle that my friend owned, but he did not look like he was going to part with it any time soon. But I had told him that if he ever thinks of parting with it, to call me first.

Now, my friend is not a Christian and is thus not saved and not part of the family of God.

It so happened recently that I was preparing at home to go to a certain city to visit with relatives, and this city was near to my friend who had the racing bicycle.

So my friend suddenly had a mild stroke 3 months ago and now he is almost back to normal (just a bit gimpy still in one leg).

But a few days before I was to leave for the relatives, I got a call from him, "asking if I was still interested in his bike because he did not want to lean to far forward over the steering wheel and now wanted a more upright bike".

We ended up agreeing on a price of US$900, and now suddenly I am the owner of his bike and it is now in my home! I'm still astonished and excited over it.

So, my question is this. Would God allow a non-Christian to have a mild stroke in order to get the racing bike over to this child of God?

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 140:8
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves.

Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

So, was it God's favor to me, or...?

Luke 9:55
But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, You know not what manner of spirit you are of.
