bump...this Topic really brings it home to me that nothing of Adam and Eve can pass the graft of Jesus.

The old scroungy fruit below the graft is not even looked at by the reaper. Only the fruit ABOVE the graft is gathered by the reaper.

The Old Man, all that is from Adam and Eve, is BELOW the graft and is not even looked at anymore by God.

The Old man has therefore already been crucified with Christ and done away with entirely. God does not even look at the Old Man and his scroungy fruit anymore.

If Jesus is grafted into our spirit, only the fruit that Jesus produces ABOVE the graft is looked at by God, in exchange for the scrawny fruit BELOW the graft.

There is therefore absolutely NOTHING that the Old Man can do to get PAST the graft with ANY of the Old Man's talents and tactics and good intentions.

As far as God is concerned, the Old Man and Old Woman are already dead, crucified, died, buried and rose with Christ already, if so be that Jesus is grafted onto our spirit.

If there is no Jesus graft in our spirit, God looks and sees our scrawny fruit.

There is NOTHING anyone BELOW the graft can do to INFLUENCE or HELP what happens ABOVE the graft. God doesn't even LOOK below the graft anymore, if a person has grafted Jesus into his spirit by admitting, "I am a sinner" and "Jesus is the Son of God" and "I accept the death of Jesus on my behalf so that I don't have to die for my sins anymore".

At that point Jesus and the Holy Spirit are grafted into my spirit and God no longer looks at or counts whatever happens BELOW the graft for the rest of that person's life.

When that person dies, because God sees a Jesus graft in that person, that person is automatically saved. "...so is the free gift".

Romans 5:16
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Be blessed,
Eden

Thanks I enjoyed this.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:5 (KJV)

(adapted from Watchman Nee} In Fukien, I {Watchman Nee} once visited a man who owned an orchard of longien trees. He had three or four acres of land and about 300 fruit trees. I inquired if his trees had been grafted or if they were of the original native stock.

"Do you think", the tree farmer replied, "that I would waste my land growing ungrafted trees? What value could I ever expect from the old stock?"

So I asked him to explain the process of grafting, which he gladly did. "When a tree has grown to a certain height, I lop off the top and graft onto it."

Pointing to one special tree he asked, "Do you see that tree? I call it the father tree, because all the grafts for the other trees are taken from that one tree. If the other trees were left to follow their own course of nature, their fruit would only be about the size of a raspberry, and it would consist mainly of thick skin and seeds."

"But this tree from which the grafts for all the others are taken, bears a luscious fruit the size of a plum, with a very thin skin and a tiny seed. And above the graft of course all the grafted trees bear fruit just like it."

"How does it happen? I simply take a little of the nature of one tree and transfer it to the other", he explained.

"I lop off the top and make a cleavage in the poor tree and insert a slip from the good one into that cleavage. Then I bind it up and leave it to grow. I don't know how it grows, but it grows the same delicious thin-skinned and small seed fruit above the graft split.

Then he showed me a tree bearing miserable poor fruit below the graft, with rich juicy fruit from the new stock above the graft.

He said, "I have left the old shoots with their useless fruit on them on purpose to show the difference’, he said. "From it you can understand the value of grafting. You can appreciate then, can you not, why I only grow grafted trees?"

Note, ladies and gentlemen, that the old fruit is still growing small and thick-skinned and large-pitted fruit, which is our old man.

The old man still produces fruit below the graft of God but no one looks at that fruit anymore. God has already crucified and condemned it and done away with the old man's fruit on the cross: "I am crucified with Christ" and "Of Him are we in Christ Jesus".

God now only looks at the fruit above the graft which is Jesus's life grafted in us:

1 John 5:12
He who has the Son has life; and he does not have the Son of God does not have life.

1 John 5:11
And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Our old man has nothing to do with the work ABOVE the graft. Zilch, zero. Only Jesus and the Holy Spirit are ABOVE the graft. ONLY THEY can be the Ones who produce the fruit ABOVE the graft.

The old man or first Adam can do NONE of that. NO matter how much the old man tries to clean himself up, be more cultured, more educated, unusually nice, he is still flesh and first Adam who CANNOT REACH ABOVE THE GRAFT.

With love,
Eden

We our old man and all that is of the first Adam are below the graft.

How can one tree bear the fruit of another? How can a poor tree bear good fruit? Only by grafting. Only by our implanting into it the life of a good tree. But if a man can graft a branch of one tree into another, cannot God take of the life of His Son and, so to speak, graft it into us?

(Excerpt from Watchman Nee's The Normal Christian Life)
