Pride is usually the last reason why a person does not save himself, as he uses the phrase, "I don't need anyone to die for me, thank you very much".

Another reason why people do not get saved is the phrase, "The Bible is just a book: I'm a human being so I'm much more important than a mere book".

But usually while the sinner is saying these things, at the same time the sinner is still "secretly" reading the Bible and during all this time the Holy Spirit continues to work on him until faith comes that it all "must be true", including that "I am a sinner" and then the sinner finally gets saved.

But pride especially prevents a sinner from getting saved, as in the phrase, "I don't need anyone to die for me", usually said in a semi-angry tone ...

But the truth is that we DO need someone to die for us, namely Jesus of Nazareth who was and is the Lord from heaven.

love, Eden

Carol [thumbsup2]

Salvation is NOT found in a religion, but in a Person—The Messiah Yahshua.

Not that a person needs to know a volume of scriptures, but they must know the living and active word of the Lord being spoken to their wicked hearts -- that they are lost and doomed for eternity without knowing the Lord Jesus Christ and the work of Calvary.

One must know the TRUE meaning of His blood shed for our sins by receiving the word implanted in the heart with humility which is able to save a man's soul (James 1:21).

AMEN becauseHElives! [Bible]

Romans 10:14 - 15 (NLT)
14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

Even those who are unable to read can hear the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are audio Bibles in several translations, and Radio and Television ministries that teach the true gospel. (Sadly, some teach a false gospel). And many good Bible teaching churches.

But how will people know where to turn unless someone leads them? Someone like you and me?

in any explanation of beginning of a life (natural or spiritual) there must be union, fertilization, gestation, labor and birth

Salvation is often over simplified....

the phrase "must be Born Again" gives a revelation into the complexity of the miracle that must take place for a person to be "Born Again"....

Nicodemus pictures human reasoning, "how can a man enter again into his mothers womb?"...

Yahshua made it plan had nothing to do with the working of the flesh...

Yahshua's answer had two parts...

water and Spirit....

Yahshua was indeed explaining salvation....

He was importantly stating that He was the cleansing power and Life-force behind the promised salvation of Israel and the world.

So how does Yahshua cleanse us from all filthiness and all of our "idols" that usurp his Lordship?

He does so by the washing of the water of His word (Ephesians 5:26).

When a man or a woman is truly open to Yahweh's words and invites Him in for a thorough "housecleaning", that is when the Holy Spirit can indeed begin to make our temple (our body, soul, spirit) a worthy place for His Spirit to abide.

Once someone invites the Holy Spirit in for an "inspection", that person will never be the same.

I am not saying that they have been born again once the Holy Spirit begins His work, but their minds and hearts are beginning a conversion to the thinking of God. They are beginning to realize that they indeed are filthy and without hope of salvation unless God decides to take up residence within and grant unto them the gift of rebirth.

It is not enough to be cleansed by the washing of the water of the word.

There are many who have dipped their foot into the water of his cleansing only to withdraw it once again because the total immersion into the revelation of who He is frightens them.

Just because someone knows the scripture and is titillated by its implications doesn't mean that one is born again, as was the case of Nicodemus.

It would be as ludicrous as saying that if someone read and comprehended space flight that they were then an astronaut!

In a very real sense, the demons of hell understand and comprehend the scripture yet they are doomed to their fate.

To truly become born again, one must first be baptized or totally immersed into God's word and then be changed by it.

Once the word has cleansed the heart, making it contrite and humble, then the Holy Spirit can take up residence within the spirit. Then, and only then can a man be born of the Spirit of God!

Yahshua, I confess to you my sin. My mind and heart have been converted to know that your word is true and there is salvation in no other. Come, live within me and cause me to be born again. In Your Holy Name, Amen.

Our prayers for them are important also.
I couldn't agree more on this.

I realize it's hard for the unbeleivers to give their life to God and give up the things of the flesh.

I think a large part of it though is a frame of mind.

If the person thinks they will not be able to escape the flesh, then they won't.

I suppose all we can do is act like Christians and have the mentality of Christians, so we can show them that it IS possible.

kneeling down I kiss your feet,
Grace abounds upon me now,
I once was lost
but now I'm found.
The gift of God dwells within,
To this love I now give in.

To us it might seem easy now, but think about what a person goes through.

If we are tempted by “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life” (See 1 John 2:16) unbelievers are more so. If we are tempted by the world, the flesh, and the devil, unbelievers are more so.

It is not easy for an unbeliever to lay down his life, with all the fears and doubts, or perhaps all the riches, and give his life over to Jesus Christ who he has only heard about but never met.

Satan will do all he can to stop a person from being saved.

The Holy Spirit must work in an unbeliever's life and in his heart before he can be brought to saving faith. And we are a part of that when we share the love, the peace, and the message of the gospel with others. Our prayers for them are important also.

Great post. Short but sweet.

It's amazing to me how the non beleiver thinks that acceptance of Jesus Christ as their saviour is some type of complex thing -- but how simple it truly is.

Thanks for the post.

* The Sinner: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

* The Problem: "Jesus answered. . .Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

* The Sentence: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

* The Savior: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

* The Solution: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9

* The Timing: "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." II Corinthians 6:2

* Your Acceptance of God's Gift: If you really believe that Jesus Christ took your place in judgment for your sins on the Cross, you can pray the following prayer.

* The Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, be merciful to me a sinner. I do now receive you as my personal Lord and Savior.

* The Result: If you sincerely prayed the above prayer, you are now born again! John 3:3

* Welcome to God's Family: "Therefore if any man (or woman) be in Christ, he (or she) is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17

That is all.....
