In other words, grace is the power of God which enables, not forgives. Grace is the power not to stumble, or fail. Grace is the power to live the Christian life. Else one fits this description:

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

It seems that Jesus sometimes went out of His way to seek sinners. God may not come to us, but it seems He does much to bring us to Him.

You know, in pondering this it occurs to me that HE came to 'seek' and to save those who are lost. He came! And that HIS Spirit drew us to Him is most interesting. Because invariably we get the notion, once HE CAME to us, and drew us to Him, that thereafter we take over, which really messes things up.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

John 4:4-10 And he (Jesus) must needs go through Samaria. Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

John 6:43-44 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

It seems that Jesus sometimes went out of His way to seek sinners. God may not come to us, but it seems He does much to bring us to Him.

People have the words "Forgivness," and "Grace" confused as to what they do. For Grace is not called Grace because it pardons sin. Forgiveness does. That is the function of Forgivness. And Forgivness isn't actually forgiveness until one repents. Then, and only then does Forgivness 'forgive'. Forgiveness doesn't 'forgive' the unrepentant, and Grace allow the unrepentant to be forgiven! That notion would be heresy, though it is accepted as wholly true by perhaps every church today.

Grace doesn't 'allow' sin. But if one is repentant, Grace is the power of God to live without needing forgivness. And when one 'fails' the grace of God, Grace will restore him, if he is repentant. But some view Grace as God's coming over to us, which in their view HE does by meeting us where we are, strapped in our sin. Am I confused? He doesn't move. We do. For my understanding is that we are to go over to HIM, to meet Him where HE is, through the Blood of Christ, and the finished work on the Cross. Grace is the power of God for us to cross over to Him, to meet HIM where HE is. For HE will never cross over to us. He created a bridge for us, not for Him.

God is about power, and serving God in the weakness of the flesh is not about power. And Grace is the power of God to serve the Righteous God. And forgivness is the power of God to receive the Grace of God which enables us to serve.

Otherwise we serve sin:

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

And no man can serve two masters!

Won't you repent?
