Just a closer walk with thee. Grant it Jesus if you please! (Sure would be nice to have some musical notes to use as quotes.)

We love to tell the story, of Jesus and His glory!

Seems we love to sing about a closer walk, but when someone expounds on it, we become indignant. We are insulted. Then we hear, "You mean I ain't doing enough? Get down. Get down! You righteous, ain't ya?" Of course it is sarcastic. And that is a work of the flesh. It should be a clue. If you experience a work of the flesh, you don't have to guess that it is not a work of the Spirit. Therefore one should be examining him/herself in the light.

This is why Jesus brought up the mote and beam. This also is why we have the passage, "Whatsoever doth make manifest, is light." That means that whatsoever reveals our sinful state to us, is light. And based on that, upon recognizing, we should not continue in that state. (The keyword here which is implied, is 'repent'.) But however, we are blind (mote and beam) and continue in our pricked condition, to flap like a fish out of water.

Can we not examine ourself to see if we are "In the faith?" For that is our calling, if we are following. And this kind of thing is not from faith. So that is why we have such scripture that we should consider. But it is too easy to accuse, and thereby sidestep this.

So say a sincere person comments, in a constructively criticizing way, if all we can do is be indignant, it is because that is 'self exaultation.' And there again we have another reason to look at ourself, rather than the other, and see if our response is out of Christ, or our flesh. For if it is out of the flesh, we have not 'crucified the flesh, with the affections and lusts'. Therefore, according to scripture, we are not after HIS heart. We are not glorifying Him. He is not manifest 'to' us and through us. And people spot a fake. And if one is not a fake, others may think he is because a sinful quirk distorts his personality, from the personality of Christ. And we are the ambassadors of Christ to the world. We are who they see. Therefore, if we do not represent Him faithfully, they are not drawn to the light. And the world needs the "Light of the World." We are it, unless we fail to embrace the truth such that we are under the Cross.
Amen!
