Hi Copper 25,
This is the way I see it.......two parallel truths.......No one merits his own salvation by his own deeds.........and at the same time no one can say that he has faith if he does not obey Jesus.

Heres another example of what may seem paradoxical to some people........... Christians cannot say that they do not have sin, but yet at the same time they must consider sin their enemy.

With love in Christ, Daniel

Hey, Copper25, I tead that whole Topic post and really enjoyed it; did you and the Holy Spirit write that yourself? (If that makes any sense, LOL). Anyways, good stuff, spoke to my heart.

You said in one place of it
quote:
Righteousness by faith does not mean our own, but leaning to God “ grace by grace ” to become better. Yea, this is not a one step program but it is something that is required of us. Required because we live by the command of a righteous God. One who is forgiving, but strict for our own good. When we disobey, we do it to our own hurt and no one else can take blame or responsibility for our actions.
Regarding your quote, I like to see that as once we are INSIDE the gate of the family camp of God, we may be ADOPTED children (having coming from the devil's life), and God knows that ADOPTED children will "have some issues" even inside of the family camp of God.

But God does expect the adopted sons and daughters of God to try to behave well and decently and honestly and lovingly within the family camp of God, and what God does, God teaches His children WITH HIS WORD as to how we should act ("okay?") within the family camp of GOD, hello.

Like an adopted son in an earthly family, the adopted son is immediately being trained by the Word of God.

But if they refuse to train themselves with the manual of the family of God that God gave each of them, and they remain a rebel, in the family camp of God?

They may be turned out of the family camp of God like Hagar and Ishmael, having no inheritance with those who wanted to be the children of God:

Matthew 24
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays His coming;

49 And shall begin to smite His fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for Him and in an hour that he is not aware of.

51 And He shall cut him asunder and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And so, [b]Copper25
, you said
quote:
Righteousness by faith does not mean our own, but leaning to God “ grace by grace ” to become better. Yea, this is not a one-step program but it is something that is required of us. Absolutely. The LORD expects us to do our best, given allowances for our history, now that we are inside the family camp of God.

love, Eden

Mark 4:24) And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

does thou steal ” when you tell others not to or “ does thou commit adultery ” and tell others not to commit adultery? Being a hypocrite in any way holds what value; when the person objecting is doing the same action, that makes their lesson offering nullified because what good is their advice when they can’t take or hear it themselves. Matthew 24:51) And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites, and there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth)) So what does this say about the hypocrite? Their end is in hell, cast away and lost forever. If someone is claiming Christian, but are not living it, but rather hasting his feet to sin or choosing iniquity rather then to escape from it, where is the destination of that soul? Saying Christian and living Christian are two different things. The works of the flesh like adultery, fornication, anger, envy, lustfulness, certainly aren’t part of the Christian lifestyle, but are attributes of those people who do not abide in Christ.

unto you that hear shall more be given- Do you think that you can just hear and read the word, and expect not to be held up to a standard? That could not be further from the truth. The more we hear in our life about God’s law and expectation, the more accountable for our actions we are. When we see “ thou shall not commit adultery ” or hear it, what cloak for that sin is there? We know as Christians that we are suppose to turn away from sin, not just one or two types, but all. “ But if a wicked man turn from all his sins ”, means just that, turning away from the sinful nature, the carnal mind and all its attributes, and turn to righteousness and obedience. Righteousness by faith does not mean our own, but leaning to God “ grace by grace ” to become better. Yea, this is not a one step program but it is something that is required of us. Required because we live by the command of a righteous God. One who is forgiving, but strict for our own good.When we disobey, we do it to our own hurt and no one else can take blame or responsibility for our actions.

Who can say that they did not know God’s expectations when they are written in the bible? Who can claim ignorance when the truth is sitting in front of their face, unhidden and uncovered in society. Proverbs 8:1) Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?)) It’s there waiting, calling for people to open. Proverbs 8:3) She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors)) It is public and the saddest thing is when people reject it, weather it be purposefully or unknowingly because they cannot begin to comprehend the truth, the power, and sanctification that God’s word has. So rather than reach for liberation, they reach for something contradicting to fill that void in their life where the truth should be, this also includes when someone is accepting the half truth or anything but the whole truth, which will cause them to err in the faith, if not get sidetracked completely from it altogether, because what can compare to the whole truth, pure and untainted? Nothing. This is why all other scenarios fall short and miss the mark to live a life pleasing God, and will cause a lukewarm effect to take place. People can try, but the truth still stands as it has since the beginning of time. Submit to God, turn from evil, and reach for holiness by seeking God continually each day.
