v20 "You see, brother, how many "MYRIDS" of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all Zealous for the law."
"but they have been informed about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children nor to walk accoding to the customs"

If Paul was really teaching that, here was the perfect opportunity for him to speak up and say "Yes" thats what I teach. But he did not.

Acts 21:17 - 28 (NLT)

17 When we arrived, the brothers and sisters in Jerusalem welcomed us warmly. 18 The next day Paul went with us to meet with James, and all the elders of the Jerusalem church were present. 19 After greeting them, Paul gave a detailed account of the things God had accomplished among the Gentiles through his ministry.

20 After hearing this, they praised God. And then they said, “You know, dear brother, how many thousands of Jews have also believed, and they all follow the law of Moses very seriously. 21 But the Jewish believers here in Jerusalem have been told that you are teaching all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn their backs on the laws of Moses. They’ve heard that you teach them not to circumcise their children or follow other Jewish customs. 22 What should we do? They will certainly hear that you have come.

23 “Here’s what we want you to do. We have four men here who have completed their vow. 24 Go with them to the Temple and join them in the purification ceremony, paying for them to have their heads ritually shaved. Then everyone will know that the rumors are all false and that you yourself observe the Jewish laws.

25 “As for the Gentile believers, they should do what we already told them in a letter: They should abstain from eating food offered to idols, from consuming blood or the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality.”

26 So Paul went to the Temple the next day with the other men. They had already started the purification ritual, so he publicly announced the date when their vows would end and sacrifices would be offered for each of them.

27 The seven days were almost ended when some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul in the Temple and roused a mob against him. They grabbed him, 28 yelling, “Men of Israel, help us! This is the man who preaches against our people everywhere and tells everybody to disobey the Jewish laws. He speaks against the Temple—and even defiles this holy place by bringing in Gentiles.

__________________________________________________

It was not until the city and the temple were destroyed in A.D. 70 that traditional Jewish worship ceased.

Paul did warn the Gentiles not to get involved in the old Jewish religion (Gal. 4:1-11); but he nowhere told the Jews that it was wrong for them to practice their customs, so long as they did not trust in ceremony or make their customs a test of fellowship (Rom. 14:1-15:7). There was freedom to observe special days and diets, and believers were not to judge or condemn one another.

The same grace that gave the Gentiles freedom to abstain also gave the Jews freedom to observe. All God asked was that they receive one another and not create problems or divisions.

THE STANDARD FOR THE BELIEVER

Becoming a Christian does not exempt one from sinning, or from obedience to the law of Christ. To say it does is to fall into one or both of the common errors concerning the Christian and sin. The one is a false perfectionism and the other antinomianism.

Unbiblical perfectionism teaches that the believer does not sin at all because he has rooted out the principle of sin. No believer can experience this kind of sinless perfection until the resurrection when he will be free from the sin principle within.

A modified form of sinless perfection does not include eradication of the sin nature but teaches that a Christian can live without practicing sin for some period of time. But not practicing sin not only means not committing sin but also practicing and conforming to the will of God.

Sinless perfection involves more than the absence of sin. In reality, the biblical doctrine of perfection means ripeness, maturity, fullness, completeness. Biblical perfection does not stand in contrast with sinfulness but with immaturity.

Antinomianism teaches that the Christian is not bound by the law. Antinomianism’s concept of freedom from law often leads to license.

Antinomianism is sometimes equated with Christian liberty, a wrong equation. The opposite of liberty is slavery, and the believer has been brought from slavery to sin to a position of freedom from that slavery in Christ.

The opposite of antinomianism is obedience to law. Which law, for there have been several throughout biblical history? For the believer today it is the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2).

What is the biblical standard for the Christian? It is not sinless perfection nor antinomianism. It is to walk in the light (1 John 1:7). God is light or holy. This absolute standard is always before the believer. Yet no believer can be without sin, as God is, in this life. Does God then mock us? Not at all. Rather, He tailors His requirement for each of us to our stage of spiritual development. And that tailored requirement is to walk in the light of His holiness.

If we say we have no sin principle (as sinless perfectionism claims) we lie (v. 8). Likewise, if we say we have not sinned for whatever period of time (as modified perfectionism teaches) we make God a liar (v. 10).

If we walk in the light we will not fall into the error of antinomianism, for we will keep His commandments (2:4, 6; 3:24).

Each believer can meet the requirement to walk in the light. The amount of light each has will be different, but the requirement to respond to that amount is the same for all. As we grow, the circle of light will expand. And as we respond to increasing light we will receive more light, and so on. But at each stage the requirement is the same—walk in the light.

To sum up: The standard is God’s holiness. The requirement is to walk in the light. Our experience should always be a growing one, growing to maturity.

(Basic Theology)

1 Corinthians 9:19 - 21 (NLT)
19 Even though I am a free man with no master, I have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ.

20 When I was with the Jews, I lived like a Jew to bring the Jews to Christ. When I was with those who follow the Jewish law, I too lived under that law. Even though I am not subject to the law, I did this so I could bring to Christ those who are under the law.

21 When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ.

In Romans 7:7 Pauls decleration that "we have been delivered from the law"(v6) gives rise to the question "Is the Law Sin?

Pauls reaction is one of horror. Then he proceeds to show that the Law of God is good, provided one understands its function, which is to reveal sin AND to teach what is right.

Powerless in itself to produce righteousness, the law exposes sin for what it really is.

verses 9-10 Realization of Sin thru the instrumentality of the Law makes one connscious of his spiritual death.

verses 11-13 Sin, NOT the Law, was to blame. Gods law, reflecting His righteous moral principles, is holy. It simply does not have the power to make us righteous.

verses 14-23 While the Law can enlighten ones conscience, it is powerless to produce holiness of life. The Fault however is not with the Law of God which is spiritual (v14). The Fault is with the law of SIN (v23) the indwelling depravity of human nature, which rebels against Gods Laws.

Paul was not aginst the Law of God. He kept the laws himself. We read in Acts 21:15-25

v20 "You see, brother, how many "MYRIDS" of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all Zealous for the law."

But the apostles themselves knew this was a false accusation. v24 "Take them and be purified with them and pay their expenses so that they may know that those things of which they were informed concerning you are nothing, but that you yourself also walk orderly and KEEP the Law.

The law is "dead" for us, but not for unbelievers.

Romans 7:4 (NKJV)

Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.

Just as death breaks the bond between a husband and wife, so a believer’s “death” (death to his old self) breaks his bond with the law. The old contractual arrangement had to be completely severed before the new one could begin. This had to be as final as death. Jewish believers could not live with a dual allegiance. They could not be under the lordship of Christ and the lordship of the law. Total commitment to Christ cannot coexist with a total commitment to the law. That would be spiritual adultery. A believer belongs fully to Christ. This happens through the body of Christ, that is, because of Christ’s death on the cross. The believer is then freed to belong to another, to Christ.

The Law did not die, because God’s Law still rules over men. We died to the Law, and it no longer has dominion over us. But we are not “lawless”; we are united to Christ, sharing His life, and thus walking “in newness of life.” Romans 8:4 climaxes the argument: “That the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.” In the old life of sin, we brought forth fruit “unto death,” but in the new life of grace, we “bring forth fruit unto God.” To be “dead to the Law” does not mean that we lead lawless lives. It simply means that the motivation and dynamic of our lives does not come from the Law: it comes from God’s grace through our union with Christ.

For Unbelievers

Romans 6:23 (NLT) For the wages of sin is death , but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

The underlying idea of sin is that of law and of a lawgiver. The lawgiver is God. Hence sin is everything in the disposition and purpose and conduct of God’s moral creatures that is contrary to the expressed will of God (Romans 3:20; 4:15; 7:7; James 4:12, 17).

Revelation 20:13 - 15 (NLT)
13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. 14 Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death . 15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Law = Sin = Death

Aaron, I agree with what you say.

WildB, yes, thats correct. The BOOKS will be opened and the unbeliever will be judged according to their "Works".

The BOOK of Life will also be opened.

In that passage there is more than just the BOOK of Life.

We know that no one can keep the law in his own strength, right?

One must have the blood covering them, because there is not one part of those 10 commandments that anyone has ever kept in his own strength.

I would ask an unbeliever if i was witnessing to them,

Have you ever told a lie?
Have you ever taken the Lords name in vain?
Have you ever had thoughts of adultry?
Have you ever dishonered your parents?

Remember if they break only one of these laws they are guilty of breaking all of them.

And if they were to die tonite without the covering of blood from Yeshua that is an antonment for breaking those laws, then they would be judged by God for breaking His laws. They could have accepted His free gift of salvation thru Yeshua and had their names written in the BOOK of Life, but since they did not, then they are judged according to their works. And we know that their works will be aginst Gods laws.

They are judged "according to their works" just as the scripture WildB posted.

God is Just. He will show them their works thru the Books.

quote:
Mat 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
Jesus came to fulfill the Law.

The Law's purpose was such:

quote:
Gal 3:19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made.
It was added till the Seed came. Once the Seed came the purpose of the Law was fulfilled.

Jesus said, "I came to fulfill the Law". This is what He meant: I am the Seed that is to come.

So when He said this:

quote:
Mat 5:18 "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
He was offering two provisions for the end of the Law: 1) heaven and earth pass away
or
2) till all is fulfilled.

Now, if by "all is fulfilled" Jesus meant "all of the reason for the Law" then we must have a record of when all of the reason for the Law was fulfilled.

It's found here:

quote:
Jhn 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
and here:

quote:
Col 2:14 "..having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
Furthermore, we are instructed to cast out the bondwoman (which equates with Sinai and the Law Gal 4:25,26).

But then, how will men know they are in sin? Well, by the Spirit of God, of course:

quote:
Jhn 16:8 "And when He has come (the Holy Spirit), He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment...
So then, without the Law how are the sons of God disciplined? Well, by the Spirit of God, of course:

quote:
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
And now the sons live by the new Law in the earth:

quote:
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
And to this Law our Lord may add new commandments:

quote:
Jhn 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
For we cannot live by bread alone but by every word that precedes out of the mouth of God.
Indeed, He will tell us how to live moment by moment.

Aaron

Then why does the Bible say this?

Rev.20

[11] And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
[12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Jas.4
[17] Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

okay, if a man rejects the Spirts conviction he will be judged by the law, period!

Yeshua said "For assuredly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by NO means pass from the Law till all is fulfilled."

All is not fulfilled yet. Because heaven and earth are still here, the ungodly have not been Judged yet, they will be judged before the seat of God after the 1000 year reign of Christ.

After this we get a New heaven and new Earth for this heaven and earth will pass away.

Yeshua said "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments (jots and titles)and teaches men to do so shall be called "Least" in the kingdom of heaven;" (Notice it did not say you would not go to heaven, just be called least)
"but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

Then read what he says about the pharisees in verse 20.

Why would Yeshua say that?

Because the Pharesees "Added" to the Laws of God, put "Fenses" around the word of God.

Matt 5 21-48 Yeshua gives 6 examples of how His teaching IS the Law and the prophets. In each example, He contrasts Pharisaic Distortions of the Law with His own interpretation, because He alone knows, He wrote and gave those Laws.

The Pharisees distorted the Laws of God.

Take ch5:33-37 for example. The Pharisees developed elaborate rules governing vows, and only those employing the divine name were binding. Yet Yeshua taught that a vow is binding regardless of what formula used.

The Pharisees did not obey the laws of God and taught men not to as well. Remember Yeshua said they would go far to make a prosylte and to make them twice the son of hell as they were.

So, Yeshua says unless our righteousness exceeds those of the Pharisees, we could not enter the kingdom of heaven

And it was for sure the Pharisses taught men to break "one of the least of the commandments". For they made up their own, adding to it all the time.

Dont get me wrong, salvation does not come by our works of the law in the flesh. It is only by the Spirit of God that one can obey Gods laws.

It is because we are saved that we would want to know what pleases Him.

I am maried to my husband and he is the head of my house hold. I would want to know what and how to please him. I am married to Yeshua, a bride of Christ. I want to know what pleases Him

It is thru His word, His instructions, His laws and its THru the Power I recieve thru the Spirit that I am able to look at His laws and know that they are still standing today.

The Spirit does convict of sin, but one must hear the word and how can one hear unless one be sent to proclaim the word, gospel.

And what is the word? It is that we are all sinners, what is sin? Trangression of Gods laws.
And what is the penalty for our sins? Death And what is the solution, dying to self and letting Yeshua live thru us.

Would Yeshua break His own laws? Not the laws of the Pharisees, but His own laws? Surely Not.

The unbelieving dead will be judged by Gods laws since they did not accept Yeshuas free gift. The Books will be opened and The Book of Life as well.

If a murder dies tonite without Christ, he will be judged. Thou shall not murder.

If a murderer who has accepted Christ after his crime, then he shall not be judged. He is saved.

The laws of God are still in effect. They have not been done away with. They stand unti All is fulfilled and until heaven and earth pass away.

So again, the Law of God is not done away with

Romans 8

The Law cannot claim you (v. 2).

You have been made free from the law of sin and death. You now have life in the Spirit. You have moved into a whole new sphere of life in Christ. “The law of sin and death” is what Paul described in Romans 7:7-25. “The law of the Spirit of life” is described in Romans 8. The Law no longer has any jurisdiction over you: you are dead to the Law (Rom. 7:4) and free from the Law (Rom. 8:2).

The Law cannot condemn you (v. 3).

Why? Because Christ has already suffered that condemnation for you on the cross. The Law could not save; it can only condemn. But God sent His Son to save us and do what the Law could not do. Jesus did not come as an angel; He came as a man. He did not come “in sinful flesh,” for that would have made Him a sinner. He came in the likeness of sinful flesh, as a man. He bore our sins in His body on the cross.

The “law of double jeopardy” states that a man cannot be tried twice for the same crime. Since Jesus Christ paid the penalty for your sins, and since you are “in Christ,” God will not condemn you.

The Law cannot control you (v. 4).

The believer lives a righteous life, not in the power of the Law, but in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Law does not have the power to produce holiness; it can only reveal and condemn sin. But the indwelling Holy Spirit enables you to walk in obedience to God’s will. The righteousness that God demands in His Law is fulfilled in you through the Spirit’s power. In the Holy Spirit, you have life and liberty (Rom. 8:2) and “the pursuit of happiness” (Rom. 8:4).

The legalist tries to obey God in his own strength and fails to measure up to the righteousness that God demands. The Spirit-led Christian, as he yields to the Lord, experiences the sanctifying work of the Spirit in his life. “For it is God that worketh in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (Phil. 2:13). It is this fact that leads to the second freedom we enjoy as Christians.

The Holy Spirit convicts the world now; about sin and about the need for The Savior. So, even if a man never reads the law the Spirit will convict him of his condition and his actions.

And the law was not a "tutor" like "one who teaches" but rather a school master like "one who watches over the children on their way to their destination (school)". The "destination" is this case is the advent of the Seed of Promise upon the earth.

quote:
What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made...
That Seed is Christ Jesus and He has come.

That is how the law is upheld and why we are the evidence that the law did its work: the people through whom the Seed would come were protected by the law until the Seed arrived. Now, all who live in Christ inherit the promises given to Christ. The law did its work in the world and now the Spirit does His work. And, of the Spirit's work, no man is ignorant, he can only reject the Spirit's conviction.

Just as Yeshua "born under the law" (Gal4:4), recognized its authority thruout His life (Rom 15:8), so Paul upheld the validity of the Law.

In Pauls terms, "Do we, then nullify(do away with) the law by this faith?ot at all! Rather we uphold the law" (Rom 3:31).

Some 80 times Paul quotes from the Law to establish the authority of his arguments. He emphasizes that "the law is holy, and the comandment is holy, righteous and good" ((7:12)

He also says "I delight in Gods law" (7:22). He recognizes the law as "good" (1Tim 1:8) and spiritual(Rom 7:14) and he builds his theology by drawing heavily on the Old Test Decalogue (13:8-10)

Though Paul affirms the goodness of the Law in such passages, he seems overly negative about the Law elswhere. But that is not where the problem ever existed, for Israel or the Church.

The problem was not the law, but with people.

If Paul appears negative, it is usually in the context of those who tried to use Conformity to the Law as a basis of self-righteousness.

Did Paul throw out his Jewishness and become as those from the non-Jewish world who became believers in Yeshua? Not at all.

For Paul felt at Liberty to adhere to the regulations of the Mosaic Law in matters such as circumcision (Acts 16:3) the Nazirite Vow ((18:18), and purification ritual (21:20-26).

Toward the end of his 3rd missionionary journy, Paul, still faithful to Judaism, wanted to go to Jerusalem by Sahvout (Pentecost) (20:16).

Paul adhered personally to such Jewish practices to show the people that becoming a Christian he had not forsaken the Law but remained a faithful Jew, firmly committed to his ancestral Scriptures and traditions.

Paul always understood that Gods Laws had not been nullified, done away with, ect...

There was diversity among the early believers.

Believers in the early church had no one position on the precise relation of Jewish Law to gentile believers. Some early converts held to antinomianism (literally "against law").

But Paul especially in the book of Romans refutes the notion that once a person comes to right standing with God by faith he no longer has an obligation to the law but is free to live as he pleases.

Other gentile converts held to the moral code of Judaism but were not bound to any ceremonial laws.

A 3rd even stricter group from the Jerusalem church appears to have upheld the whole teaching of the Law except for circumcision.

But the strictest group of gentile converts in the upholding of Jewish law were the so called "Judaizers". (Acts 15:5) These were the Ebionites, a Jewish-Christian sect which flourished for several centuries after A.D. 70.

God did not save us from the law, but from sin.

God said "Our righteousness" is as filthy rags, He did not say His law was filthy.

The law is a tutor. It was never instituted for salvation. Only blood, a sacrifice could save anyone. For without the shedding of Blood, there is no remission for sins.

Yeshua paid the penalty for our sins. What is sin? Sin is transgression of Gods laws.

If you break the speed limit law and get a ticket and someone pays that ticket for you in court, freeing you from the penalty, then does the speed limit change?
No it doesnt.

So if one dies without Christ, and the law is done away with, what then is it that God judges them on? There is no law, so how do they know they need a savior.

If there is no law, for example, thou shalt not-

steal, murder, commit adultry, lie ect...

Then what would be the tutor?

Jesus not only took our sins to the cross (1 Peter 2:24), but He also took the Law to the cross and nailed it there, forever out of the way. The Law was certainly against us, because it was impossible for us to meet its holy demands. Even though God never gave the Ten Commandments to the Gentiles, the righteous demands of the Law—God’s holy standards—were “written in their hearts” (Rom. 2:12-16).

Jesus Christ did even more than cancel the debt: He took the Law that condemned us and set it aside so that we are no longer under its dominion. We are “delivered from the Law” (Rom. 7:6). We “are not under the Law, but under grace” (Rom. 6:14). This does not mean that we are lawless, because the righteousness of the Law is fulfilled in us as we walk in the power of the Spirit (Rom. 8:4). Our relationship with Jesus Christ enables us to obey God out of love, not out of slavish fear.

Matthew 5:17 - 20 (NLT)

17“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. 19So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. 20“But I warn you—unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

Jesus did not destroy the Law by fighting it; He destroyed it by fulfilling it! If I have an acorn, I can destroy it in one of two ways. I can put it on a rock and smash it to bits with a hammer. Or, I can plant it in the ground and let it fulfill itself by becoming an oak tree.

How can we fulfill the Law? By yielding to the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to work in our lives (Rom. 8:1-3). The Holy Spirit enables us to experience the “righteousness of the law” in daily life. This does not mean we live sinlessly perfect lives, but it does mean that Christ lives out His life through us by the power of His Spirit (Gal. 2:20).

Oh, then the Bible must be wrong.

"The Law" was not nailed to the cross.

Yeshua was! If a person is an unbeliever and dies without Yeshua as their Lord and Savior, then that person will be judged by God according to Gods Laws.

If a believer dies knowing Yeshua as their Lord and Savior than that person has Yehuas blood sacrifice/atonment for breaking Gods Laws.

In other words, while the law still fufills its function of guiding us to know Gods morale standards, we as believers are free from enslavement to it as a way of rightousness.

We have become dead to the law thru the body of Christ (Rom 7:4)

It is US that have Died, NOT the Law.
In Rom 7:7-25

Paul states that the Law is good, but it cannot empower us to obey.

In Romans 7:11-13 It is SIN, not the Law that was to blame. Gods law, reflecting His righteous morale principles is called by Paul "Holy".

The fault is not with the law which is spiritual (verse 14) the fault is with the law of sin, the indwelling depravity of human nature which rebels Against God's laws.

Paul declares that he is Carnal, a creature of the flesh, sold under sin, in captivity to sin.

Though given by Yahweh God, the law was powerless to enable people to meet its demands because it had to depend on Sinful human nature to carry them out.

It was Yeshua who was Nailed to the cross, Not the Law. He alone paid the price, the penalty for us because we could not keep Gods laws. The ordiances contained in the law, meaning the punishment for breaking Gods laws was what was Nailed to the Cross.

Gods laws are still standing today. But we as believers have had our debt paid for. Those who do not know Him will be judged by His Laws and standards when they die.

In St. Paul's mighty Epistle to the Romans he declares "the gospel [good news] of God... concerning His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom. 1:1-3).

The good news which Paul proclaimed was essentially about Christ. He was always talking about Christ. His epistles were filled with Christ. In his message Christ was everything.

This is in striking contrast to much of modern evangelism, which is not Christ-centered, but man-centered. Dr. A. W. Tozer, shortly before his death, wrote:

"The flaw in current evangelism lies in its humanistic approach... It is frankly fascinated by the great, noisy, aggressive world with its big names, its hero worship, its wealth and pageantry... This gross misapprehension of the truth is back of much... of our present evangelical activity...

"This concept of Christianity is a radical error, and because it touches the souls of men it is a dangerous, even deadly, error... It is little more than a weak humanism allied with weak Christianity to give it ecclesiastical respectability... Invariably it begins with man and his needs and then looks around for God, while true Christianity reveals God as searching for man to deliver him from his ambitions."

Tozer was right in this. God's good news for the world is about Christ and His power and love in defeating Satan, overcoming death, nailing the Law to His cross and paying for man the just penalty for sin, so that all who believe might be justified. This is why Paul's gospel is called in Scripture "the gospel [good news] of the grace of God" (Acts 20:24) and "the gospel of the glory of Christ" (II Cor. 4:4).

To enter experientially into the truth of this good news is the greatest blessing one can possibly enjoy.
