Dear Friends,
This is how Paul helped to turn the world upside down.
quote:
Ac 15:40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
16:1 ¶ Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
2 Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered <3860> them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

The Greek word translated "delivered" is the same word so treated in Jude 3.
quote:
3 ¶ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered <3860> unto the saints.
The Greek word translated "ordinances" and "traditions" was a tweak on that same word that made the verb a noun. In the following scripture, both the verb and the noun are presented.
quote:
1Co 11:1Co 11:2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances <3862>, as I delivered <3860> them to you.
The point is this: As long as false teachers can keep us divided by shifting our attention from obedience to the decrees to memorization of theology and eschatology, we lose power to turn the world upside down.
At this point, we must start contending for the faith once delivered to the saints remembering these passages.
quote:
2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions <3862> which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

2Th 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition <3862> which he received of us.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

If you have a person that does not work with his hands, he should not eat. That includes the pastor.
Paul the apostle delivered the traditions providing the example that all should work with their hands. No man is authorized to change that scripture. If he refuses to obey, he is not qualified to serve as pastor because he is not spiritual.
quote:
1Co 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

You are most correct. Lets let the Bible talk.

Gal.2

[9] And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

Dear WildB,
You just pointed out why it is so dangerous to use terms created by men.
OK. There is no such term in scriptue as a "Great Commission".
There is only the word of God one commandment of which was to the disciples to teach the nations to observe the things whatsoever he had commanded them. Since that commandment comes under the purview of all of the commandments Jesus taught His apostles, we should have learned to observe the commandment to teach the nations to observe the things whatsoever Jesus commanded the apostles.
Paul did this.
quote:
Ac 16:4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

Now, let us dispense with this Great Commission and Greater Commission silliness (which is of men, and not of God), and start obeying the King of kings.

Yes, Scyth it is high time to be obedient to the Word of the Lord. It is unto the sanctifying of His Name, which is the Name above all Names. It is towards the purpose we have in Christ and it is giving honor and glory where honor and glory are due.

He is worthy!!!!Amen!!

With love in Christ, Daniel

The "Great Commission" was committed to the 12.

Paul was given a "Greater Commission".

Eph.2

[12] That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
[13] But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
[15] Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
[16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
[17] And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
[18] For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
[20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
[21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
[22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Dear friends,
Now is a good time to be obedient to our lord Jesus Christ in the Great Commission.
quote:
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Look at one of the commandments the Lord gave His apostles.
quote:
Lu 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
While the Christians are arguing about eschatology, the nations are blundering around in economics like a bull in a china closet.
It was our job to teach them to lend hoping for nothing, again. It was our job to teach them to forgive debts.
Now, it looks like we are going into years of slavery (with our children) to money lenders who gained opportunity over us by the men we supported in elections.
Abortion is not the root of every evil. Tribulation and rapture theories do not set people free.
Pray that God's people will get back on mission.
  • Jesus, through death, destroyed him who had the power of death; that is the devil.
  • Jesus was resurrected and received all authority in heaven and in earth.
  • As joint-heirs with Christ, all things are ours. We are to reign with Christ right now, giving no place to the devil.
  • As it is in every war, after the old dominion has been broken, there is mop-up and occupation. Therefore, we have been given mighty weapons which are not carnal for the purpose of bringing every mind captive to the obedience of Christ.
  • When our obedience is fulfilled, the vengeance that is ready to avenge all disobedience will go into effect.

quote:
Tit 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

quote:
Ac 16:4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

quote:
Jud 3 ¶ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
