hi betty i crossed it out, rather than change it. Other wise bills reply would look kind of funny, thanks for your kind understanding reply. I'm not a false teacher or profit. i m just trying to understand the the word of God. that doesn't mean that i'm not going to be wrong. Even Peter was wrong and Paul had to rebuke him openly. Granted i should of paid more attention. It should read meditation not mediate.

Jethro,

Spelling has always been an issue for me so I understand. Now I am the age, where I sometimes leave words out of sentences.

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Jethro,
The words mediate and meditation have completely different meanings.

Mediate does NOT appear in the Bible, but mediator appears many times. A mediator is a person who mediates.

In the Old Testament, there are two Hebrew words for meditation: hāgâ (Hebrew: הגה‎), which means to sigh or murmur, but also to meditate, and sîḥâ (Hebrew: שיחה‎), which means to muse, or rehearse in one's mind. ... The Latin Bible then translated hāgâ/melete into meditatio.

Sorry I could not find "Mediate" I am assuming you meant "meditate".

KJV Dictionary Definition: meditate

His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Ps.1.

2. To intend; to have in contemplation.

I meditate to pass the remainder of life in a state of undisturbed repose.

MED'ITATE, v.t. To plan by revolving in the mind; to contrive; to intend.

Some affirmed that I meditated a war.

1. To think on; to revolve in the mind.

Blessed is the man that doth meditate good things.

MEDITA'TION, n. L.meditatio. Close or continued thought; the turning or revolving of a subject in the mind; serious contemplation.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Ps.19.

So you consider, the post in question, to be a Spirituality led, Biblical guided and correct "meditation" whose end would achieve Humility?
The way to Heaven?

That is the 1st Sentence and TOPIC DIRECTION!
Humility the way to Heaven?

I don't see a "Humility" gate?
We are not to be in "Humility" We are to be In Christ! He is the way, he is the gate.

Humility is a fruit.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves..

[Prayer]
here is a lie i read on this sight "christians are the only one's that have the truth" that's not true. Christians are the only ones that have Jesus

YIKES!

Need we explane that it means to follow Christ, in his manner of love in Mr Gordon writing, humility or didn't the pasture go over that. sorry about the spelling. The first word out of your mouth in your text was, WRONG, where as if you pointed out that if he added in the gist, that Christ Jesus is the only way of salvation it would make his writting more effective, would have been less offensive. here is a lie i read on this sight "christians are the only one's that have the truth" that's not true. Christians are the only ones that have Jesus, Who is the truth, example Jesus told the disciple to do what the pharisee's say, not what they do. why is that? In some situation they spoke truth. You can speak the truth from hypocrisy, contention, hatred, As you would say, "Thats All"

II. TO SET BEFORE YOU THE GOOD FRUITS OF HUMILITY. To this grace we may apply these words of the prophet, "It taketh root downward and beareth fruit upward" (Isaiah 37:31), and the deeper the root is laid, the larger and fairer will the fruit be.

1. Meekness is one pleasant fruit which grows upon humility, and to this we may join the kindred grace of peaceableness or quietness of spirit (1 Peter 3:4).

2. Patience is another good fruit of humility, with which we may join the kindred grace of submission. Now patience has respect either to God or man.

(1) Patience in respect to God consisteth in a quiet submission to His afflictive providences without murmuring.

(2) If we further consider patience as it respects men, as it is opposite to fretfulness at their faults and follies, this also is the fruit of humility; for if we were as sensible of our own follies as we should be, we should more patiently bear with the faults and follies of others.

3. Self-denial is another good fruit of humility, and how necessary a duty that is you will learn from those words of Christ (Luke 9:23). We surely esteem the body at too high a rate when we pamper it to the hurt of the soul.

4. The last good fruit of humility which I shall here speak of is contentment. The humble man remembers that, be his worldly condition what it will, it is unspeakably better than he deserves.

III. To urge upon you the exhortation in our text by A FEW MOTIVES. "Be ye clothed with humility." For —

1. Consider how high an approbation God has expressed of this grace, and how hateful pride is to Him.

2. Consider what a lovely and engaging example of humility Christ hath set us.

3. Let me recommend humility as a necessary part of your preparation for heaven.

The word Rapture comes from the Latin translation of the Bible. The Latin word is rapturo. In Greek the same word is harpazo. Rapture is a state or experience of being carried away. The word is used in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 to indicate the actual removal of God's people from earth to heaven.

1:)Rapture
2:)Post Tribulation
3:)Pre Tribulation

How ever the word Mediate meant to say meditate, appears in The Bible 23 times, 19 times in the Book of Psalms alone. example, Psalms 1:2;

it is true every true believer in Christ, has touched the reality of his self worth in the bible. John the baptist for instance said of Jesus,

John 1:

27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. there are plenty of others as well, Paul for instance where he say's

1Timothy :

15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

That is Humility realizing your true self worth in the site of God, it is good to follow the lord in humility as Paul says in 1 cor 14:

1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

Need we explane that it means to follow Christ, in his manner of love in Mr Gordon writing, humility or didn't the pasture go over that.

Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Luke 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

[Cross] [Cross] Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. - James 4:10. [Cross] [Cross]

Humility is the way to heaven. Christ was humble, the prophets of God were men of humility. The Apostles Jesus choose ended up being men of great humility. Saints in church history are considered those who reached a place of humility. Pride is everything that opposes Gods will and way. The demons are proud and love to come near those who are of a proud boastful spirit. Humility of heart drives satan from us. Humility is not just a sense of being but hundreds of daily choices we make.

We can humble ourselves in a manifold amount of ways each day in our thought-life, actions we make, in relationships we are in. The Spirit of God is working with us daily to allow us to choose the right humble choices. Archimandrite Joel Giannakopoulos said rightly: "Humility is, not only to humble your own self, but also to forbear the humiliations which others impose on you." St. Chrysostom said: "For he that is humbled, and bruised in heart, will not be vainglorious, will not be wrathful, will not envy his neighbor, will not harbor any other passion." The Scriptures say to humble "yourselves." And to realize that when we do this we are doing it "before" the Lord not only men. God see's our hearts condition and honours humility. He longs and desires to "lift us up" and grant us His blessings safely as we maintain humility of heart.

There are many steps to take towards humility, here is one practical step. Consider to pray out loud this "Litany of Humility" even daily if it becomes a help to you:

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, hear me
From the desire of being esteemed, deliver me, Jesus
From the desire of being loved, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being honoured, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being praised, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of consulted, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being approved, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being despised, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected, deliver me, Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That others may be esteemed more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That others may be praised and I unnoticed, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That others may be preferred to me in everything, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I become as holy as I should,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
