What? You say, "Do I not mean dominion?" Well, all right, dominion. But the way dominion is interpreted by the carnal nature, I laughingly think of it as dumb onion. So one can ask, "Who has 'dumb onion' over you? Do you know what an onion smells like when it goes bad?
The point is, let's consider that this is you. When you make a decision for someone else, you dominate them. If you see yourself as the law, and you make a decision for another, you usurp them. You overwhelm, and overcome them. That is dumb onion!
Now I am not talking about one's responsibility in managing others. Parents have a responsibility over children, and bosses over employees, military leaders over subservients, but even then it still applies that one should have "Fear of God" in the responsibility of administration. One should not exercise such authority outside of the fear of God (And the word fear, in fear of God really means love).
But take for examples the Muslim faith. They will insist that one has a choice. One can be 'dominated' by their decisions, which is to let their notions replace whatever you might otherwise think, or be killed. That is not a choice. It is coercion at its gravest. It is domination.
I suppose that the place that most people experience domination is in the home. Someone there likely owns their space, and yours too. For you are 'their' property, and they think nothing of making your decisions for you. Well, Hitler did that. Satan does that! People who have the spirit of the world, the flesh and the devil do that, and suppose themselves right in it.
But it is not so with the Spirit of God. HE will not dominate you. In His love He offers. That is why HE died, to 'draw' all men to Him. But HE does not go out making decisions for anyone. HE does not make a decision for you. HE lets you come to a decision. He lets you 'participate' with Him. He does not take it upon Himself to decide for you. This is Holy. And blessed are they who willingly conform. For they are the servants of God.
So what of it? Universalism and the likes cannot stand. For God makes no decision for any man. He does not choose for him. Therefore no man can say so. He or she will be on his or her own on judgment day, not being able to say that they thought that HE chose to save them, therefore they are covered. For indeed, HE chose, but they had to participate. Because HE did not choose for them, but HE was willing. So there is no rotten, smelly, 'dumb onion' in the dominion of God, because, we submit to His will. He does not overcome us.
Oh sinner, pay attention! He will not force you. But the invitation is open, and the offer is stupendous. You are 'free' to choose HIM, and that is a good thing. Won't you?
