The Israelites were still living in the land of Goshen when the Exodus happened, and apparently during the entire period when Misr Egypt put the Israelites in bondange, Israel also continued to live in the land of Goshen.

After the Exodus, the Israelites murmured that there was no vegetables and no fish to eat in the wilderness:

Numbers 11:5
We remember the fish that we did eat freely in Misr Egypt; and the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic.

In ancient Misr, subsistence wages for forced laborers often consisted of millet, dates, and onions, because the forced laborers had to be fed well enough to be able to do the work; a dead laborer is no laborer.

But by their own words, eventhough the Israelites were put in bondage, they continued to live in the land of Goshen right up to the Exodus from Misr Egypt, and they freely ate fishp and cucumbers and melons and leeks and onions and garlic.

And besides these, eventhough the Israelites were in bondage, they probably also freely ate from their flocks of sheep and goats and camels which were with them, so they had camel's milk and goat's milk, and meat at times, and sundried jerky and fat. Not all that bad a living for being in bondage.

with love, eden
