Hi Scyth, We need to commit to doing the will of God....and then trust God that He will give us the needed power in His perfect timing. We all certainly need help in our witness to this dying world. Lord Jesus, please help us to reach the lost. Amen
With love in Christ, Daniel

The words of the languages in use at any given time are, continually, impacted by the people that uses those languages. They are changed by colloquialisms, current events, mis-usage by well-known men, and other factors. When you are familiar, only, with the old usage, the first time you hear it in the new, unfamiliar way your head is put through some interesting gymnastics. For instance, let me recall for you the first time I heard the word 'gay' in the way that is not gay. It was used at work of a girl in my church, and, which I was dating. "Why do you call her 'Gay'?", I asked. "Her name is Sabrina." "Because she is", was the reply. I didn't understand for some time after she quit dating me what they were saying. (God can exercise a very foreign sense of care for us. The insecurity I felt at the age of eighteen would have been compounded if I knew then what I know, now.) The word had kept it's form, but popular impact had changed it's power. In order to prevent such changes in important terminology, such as that which is used in the medical field, those engaged with it use words from dead languages. That way, references can be made that will be understood exactly as it ought to be understood regardless of nationality or generation. God was that smart. He had the Bible preserved in a language that was about to die so that we could have a reference that could be understood as exactly as it ought to be. Very much distortion of the message of God has occurred through the interpretation, translation, and transliteration of the scriptures. And, now, we have received Christianity in so many religious forms which have lost their power thanks, largely, to that. It is no small comfort to know that we can be renewed in the spirit of our mind if we love the truth enough to go back to those texts written in dead languages. For sure, the versions which we have contain very much to help each of us in repentance and conversion. However, the power of the Thing the apostles passed down to us- that Thing which turned the world upside-down - ... Where is that power? It is available as we allow the intent of the Holy Ghost expressed by those words He chose to change our behaviour, experience, and hope.
