No words every spoke could have been more cutting to the bottom of every issue than Yeshua’s word to those He ministered, but He never condemned them He only handed out the greatest mercy for the sin of the individual to convict them and bring them to repentance.

Even the Pharisees and Sadducees Yeshua only sought to convict them of their sin so they may repent and get right, not to condemn them (Yeshua spoke hard word to these religious people, but His words were spoken by the Holy Spirit and they were full of grace, but not sloppy love grace

Definition of grace from “Strong’s” that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness: grace of speech, good will, loving-kindness, favour of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues

salt is also used to preserves food that sustains life and salt is also us to heal the human body
.
Also dual action in all matter that salt apples to nature it also applies to the Spiritual

Daily Meditation
"A high-tech way to deliver God's Word."

Seasoned with Grace

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

As the Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians, he pointed out some of the essentials of the Christian life. They are devotion to prayer, an attitude of gratefulness, and wise dealings with unbelievers. My friend, your Heavenly Father wants you to make the most of the opportunities you have, to share your testimony. Paul wrote, "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."(Col 4:6)

What did he mean, "seasoned with salt?" That’s easy; any good cook can tell you that they don’t add salt in order that the food taste salty. They add salt to bring out, or enhance the flavor, of the other ingredients in the dish.

The tongue’s power, for good and encouragement, and the use of proper words to influence others for Jesus, was well understood by Paul. Then along came James, who took an opposite approach; he described the harm your tongue can do. He said that one’s "tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!"

He wrote that one’s "tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."(James 3:5-8)

If you want to hear an example of tongues that are "unruly evil, full of deadly poison," just listen to many of the politicians. They will tell you anything to get elected, and it’s usually twisted facts about their opponent. They will make a statement that seems to agree with the polls, and later make another statement that completely disagrees with their first statement, but is in line with the new polls. Then they attempt to redefine what they meant the first time. (Smile) If that isn’t bad enough, along comes the news media, and attempts to tell us what they really "meant" to say! Now, why should we believe those who twist the truth?

Unfortunately, we also see examples of this in our workplace, families, and even our churches. If you don’t think that "power-struggles" go on in our churches, and lies told about the one whose position is coveted, dream on!!!

Now I’m going to get personal: How do you respond when you hear about a stranger who has ruined his or her personal life, carried out ruthless business practices, or brought public condemnation on themseves? Be honest now! Is it possible that you express criticism and judgment, instead of compassion or sorrow.

My friend, you can learn from Jesus’ example. He asked the Samaritan woman some very simple questions, so she would recognize her need for "living water."(John 4:13) He invited Himself to the house of the hated tax collector when He said, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house."(Luke 19:5) And remember how Jesus stood between the woman who "was caught in adultery,"(John 8:4) and her critics, before gently correcting her. Jesus’ words were seasoned with "grace."

As a Christian, you are an "ambassador for Christ,"(2 Cor 5:20) and you must also learn to season you words with grace. My friend, make it your habit to use a courteous approach, a kind tone of voice, a humble spirit and edifying words.

Try it; you can do it!

Rev. Russ
