At times I feel like we bornagain Christians are just like King David's sons were, except that we are bornagain.
King David's sons and daughters were loved and cared for by King David just because they were King David's royal sons and daughters, even when they did something wrong, David still loved them.
Likewise also our heavenly King David (the resurrected Jesus of Nazareth who was born in Bethlehem) is our Greater King David who loves us and cares for us bornagain sons and daughters.
This heavenly King David loves us and cares for us just as much as the earthly typical King David loved and cared for his sons and daughters: because they were royals:
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy {set apart} nation, a peculiar people; that you should shew forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.
The heavenly King David loves us his bornagain sons and daughters even more than the earthly King David was able to love his sons: "O Absalom! O Absalom!"
Jeremiah 33:15
In those days and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
This David knows how to love.
