"The gospel of Thomas, for example, was a forgery written in the 3rd or 4th century A.D., claiming to have been written by the Apostle Thomas. It was not written by Thomas. The early church fathers almost universally rejected the gospel of Thomas as being heretical. It contains many false and heretical things that Jesus supposedly said and did. None of it (or at best very little of it) is true. The Epistle of Barnabas was not written by the Biblical Barnabas, but by an imposter. The same can be said of the gospel of Philip, the apocalypse of Peter, the book of Enoch, etc"

The Book of Enoch is a book that has interested me greatly.
This is a text that has long been forgotten by the main stream Christian teachings.
The book, once widely used and studied by Christians, is now considered a fake.
Why?
From the historical data that I have gathered the book became banned through the Catholic Church.
Reasons: The book was only for the elect of the church to read, and those lower in levels were gravely offended by this. Once those lower officials rose to power, they banned the book because they felt it segregated the church too much.
The Book was discovered again in Ethiopia, in a church had had Bibles hundreds of years old. The book was translated and published.
