Good points, becauseHElives, the Lord was merely making a comparison, not that we ARE sheep or goats anymore than we are a lump of good dirt.
Got it. I guess we are sinful humans who can be compared to this and that animal or thing, as you said.
thanks, Eden

Can that which has been in the fold of the Sheppard be lost?
Yeshua compares us to sheep; He didn’t say we were sheep.
Yeshua also compared the salvation to seeds sown in different types of soil. (does this make me a pile of dirt) ashes to ashes, dust to dust / "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Genesis 3:19
Yeshua also compares people to wheat and tares. (said they are very hard to distinguish between)
He also said only those that became as a little child would enter the Kingdom.
He also compares the life of a believer to bread dough. (watch out for the leaven)
Yeshua said He would make the disciples fisher of men. He compared His Father to chicken gathering up her young under her wings. (does that make the child of Yahweh chicks)
The Apostle Paul compares the child of Yahweh to a soldier and an athlete.
The rule remains line upon line precept upon precept can we know if we remain children of Yahweh.
Matt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Let us take symbol’s for what they are intended, just a method of conveying deeper spiritual truth to the listener, not exact types.
-------------------- Strive to enter in at the strait gate:for many, I say unto you will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. ( Luke 13:24 )

Were the sheep formerly goats or were the sheep always sheep?
Ezekiel 34:12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
Luke 15:6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
Matthew 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.
Were the sheep formerly goats or were the sheep always sheep?
With love, Eden
