I just got this e-mail from Karen, our Fire Chief's wife. Her testimony is the first section and for 18 years I have served on the fire department with her husband Richard and her son Richard Wayne, who she references. It is true testimony and praise the Lord for His love for His precious children.

Whew!!! You know what??? It's kind of hard to type with tears in your eyes!!! Jesus has done this so many times for us.
1. When I was 8 years old...my brother & I tried to blow up a truck where my mom & dad worked at a farm machinery place. My brother snuck in and took some matches...and we went and lit them...one by one and dropped them into the truck's gas tank. Nothing happened. Finally, I cupped my hands as I dropped in the last one to look inside and see why nothing was happening. It egnited the fumes and blow up in my face. It burned all the hair off my head, eye lashes, and eye brows. My mom had to take me to the hospital and get me bandaged up. I don't have one scar from that. I know (without a doubt) that Jesus protected me!
2. Another time that same year...I had been having stomach pains and my folks took me to the hospital to get some tests done. They stuck a long needle in me full of iodine to check my kidneys. I went into convulsions, and my heart stopped. Jesus pulled me through that too. As it turned out...I was allergic to iodine and that's what the stomach pain had been caused from...iodized salt.
3. When Rich got electrocuted at IBP and fell 12 feet to the concrete floor. He had over 2500 volts go thru him. He got 3rd degree buns on his hands and upper arms and a gash on his head with a concusion but was released from the hospital 2 days later. The drs. even said he had no reason to have lived through that. I know Jesus let him stay on this earth after all that. Thank you, Jesus!
4. When Nick was 3 and had Scarlet Fever and 105 temperature! Jesus was there to get him through that.
5. When Richard Wayne was 2 and kicked the van door open (way before car seats & belts). He fell out into noon traffic on the east side of Emporia. I had 4 cars right behind me. I got the car stopped...ran back and scooped him up...took him back to the van...and went ahead and got on the bypass. After going a short distance and trying to get myself under control....and stop crying and did a LOT of praying...I pulled over, undressed him and checked him from head to toe to see if I needed to take the exit to the hospital....I found he had a red spot on his rib cage and his right palm. That's all! I know as certain as I'm living that Jesus caught him.
6. When we lived in the trailer and I had ruptured a vertibre in my back and couldn't walk...I laid in bed till Rich got home so he could take care of me. This lasted almost 2 weeks. I kept the boys home from school to help me. Nick was in 2nd grade and Lil' Rich was in Kindergarten. Finally I was able to get up and do things...slowly with a cane. The first day I took Nick to school...and I took RW with me to Emporia. Our trailer burned to the ground. If it had happened any of the days before that...it would have burned us all up. I know Jesus had His Mighty hands on us then too!!!
7. Then when Rich had his bad accident over at Jerry's where the horse fell on the ice and rolled over Rich. It broke both bones in his right arm and severed the muscle to his thumb. He went down beside the barbed wire fence and sliced his face in several places, broke his nose and he nearly bit his tougue off. Jesus brought him through that too!!!!
And the list goes on and on!!! Jesus in most certainly REAL!!! I praise HIM for always being there even when we don't know it. This email really struck a bunch of memories in my soul. I am so thankful to our Protector. He is Our Shepherd!!! HE watches over us and keeps us from harm.

Jesus Is Real
Howard County Sheriff Jerry Marr got a disturbing call one Saturday afternoon a few months ago. His 6-year-old grandson Mikey had been hit by a car while fishing in Greentown with his dad. The father and son were near a bridge by the Kokomo Reservoir when a woman lost control of her car, slid off the bridge and hit Mikey at a rate of about 50 mph.
Sheriff Marr had seen the results of accidents like this and feared the worst. When he got to Saint Joseph Hospital, he rushed through the emergency room to find Mikey conscious and in fairly good spirits.
"Mikey, what happened?" Sheriff Marr asked.
Mikey replied, "Well, Papaw, I was fishin' with Dad, and some lady runned me over, I flew into a mud puddle, and broke my fishin' pole and I didn't get to catch no fish!"
As it turned out, the impact propelled Mikey about 500 feet, over a few trees and an embankment and in the middle of a mud puddle. His only injuries were to his right femur bone which had broken in two places. Mikey had surgery to place pins in his leg. Otherwise the boy is fine.
Since all the boy could talk about was that his fishing pole was broken, the Sheriff went out to Walmart and bought him a new one while he was in surgery so he could have it when he came out.
The next day the Sheriff sat with Mikey to keep him company in the hospital.
Mikey was enjoying his new fishing pole and talked about when he could go fishing again as he cast into the trash can. When they were alone, Mikey, just as matter-of-factly, said, "Papaw, did you know Jesus is real?
"Well," the Sheriff replied, a little startled. "Yes, Jesus is real to all who believe in him and love him in their hearts."
"No," said Mikey. "I mean Jesus is REALLY real."
"What do you mean?" asked the Sheriff.
"I know! He's real 'cause I saw him." said Mikey, still casting into the trash can.
"You did?" said the Sheriff.
"Yep," said Mikey. "When that lady runned me over and broke my fishing pole, Jesus caught me in his arms and laid me down in the mud puddle."
GIVES YOU GLORY BUMPS DOESN'T IT!
GOD WILL DO THE REST
I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way.
His love is always with you.
His promises are true.
And when we give Him all our cares,
You know He will see us through.
So when the road you're traveling on
Seems difficult at best,
Just remember I'm here praying
And GOD WILL DO THE REST.
