Interesting that there is no holy convocation commanded for First Fruits -- i.e. the Resurrection. Could that be because God wanted to avoid any kind of mixture with the pagan celebration of Easter?

Easter is not of God, despite the great affection and allegiance to it that most Christians have. It is nothing more than a Christianized version of an ancient pagan fertility festival that dates all the way back to Babylon.

To all you sincere and earnest followers of Jesus, I encourage you to humble yourselves and at least look into the origins of Easter. You needn't go any farther than credited, secular sources like the Encyclopedia Britannica. And by all means, explore and try out the biblical festivals. They are prescribed by God and are full of the rich symbolism and prophecy of Messiah's life and death and coming again.

quote:

O LORD, my strength and my stronghold, And my refuge in the day of distress, To You the nations will come From the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood, Futility and things of no profit." Can man make gods for himself? Yet they are not gods! Therefore behold, I am going to make them know-- This time I will make them know My power and My might; And they shall know that My name is the LORD. [Jer. 16:19]

The tomb is empty, the grave clothes laying on the slab, He is not there. HE IS RISEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 Cor. 15:
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

CROWN HIS HEAD WITH ENDLESS BLESSING

William Goode

Crown His head with endless blessing,
Who, in God the Father’s Name,
With compassions never ceasing,
Comes salvation to proclaim.

Hail, ye saints, who know His favor,
Who within His gates are found,
Hail, ye saints th’exalted Savior,
Let His courts with praise resound.

Jesus, Thee our Savior hailing,
Thee our God in praise we own,
Highest honors, never failing,
Rise eternal round Thy throne.

Now, ye saints, His pow’r confessing,
In your grateful strains adore;
For His mercy never ceasing,
Flows, and flows forevermore.

John 20:
25: The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26: And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27: Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28: And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29: Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

The Feast of First Fruits being a type and shawdow of Yahshua. [hyper]

BUT MORE THAN THAT

1 Corinthians 15:20-23
(20) But now The Messiah has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.
(21) For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.
(22) For as in Adam all die, so also in The Messiah all will be made alive.
(23) But each in his own order: The Messiah the first fruits, after that those who are The Messiah's at His coming,

James 1:18
In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.

A type and shadow / prophecy of US to FOLLOW Yahshua. [thumbsup2]

Today is First Fruits! [clap2] He is Risen! [clap2] Halleluja!

Jesus went into the tomb our Passover Lamb... His Blood covered us and identified us as seed of Abraham.

Jesus after having purged the sin of men that he carried to the grave, having no sin of his own, HE Arose bodily on the third day...

He arose the firstfruits:

1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

The firstfruits are an offering from the labour of the people to be presented to GOD, by the priest. They are NOT burned on the altar.

Jesus laboured for us, bearing our sins, and carrying them to the grave for us.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

On the Day of FirstFruits, Jesus asceneded unto the Father, going on our behalf as Priest, and presenting HIMself, as our firstfruit offering to GOD. God did accept HIS offering and Glorify HIS SON!

Leviticus 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

Through Christ our propitiation, we reap the harvest of what we could now sow... a perfect sinless, sacrifice, HOLY and pleasing unto God. A Lamb, that having no sin of HIS own, death could not hold!

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

HAPPY FIRSTFRUITS!!

[clap2] Praise and Glory and Honor, be to CHRIST... Our Passover Lamb, Our FirstFruit offering; Our High Preist!!!! [clap2]
