Yes, God dealt with our past sins through the blood of Jesus, but God did not just stop at dealing with our past sins through the blood of Jesus, for God also dealt with the FACTORY of these sins, namely us sinners.

It would be absurd to forgive us for our sins PAST unless the FACTORY of these sins, namely US SINNERS IS ALSO DEALT WITH. And God DID also deal with the FACTORY of these sins, namely us sinners, by crucifiying us to the cross when Christ was on the cross:

So we are saved or justified by the blood of Jesus on the cross, but while Jesus was on the cross, God also CRUCIFIED THE OLD MAN WITH CHRIST ON THE CROSS.

Romans 6:6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

It is not US who is made wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, it is CHRIST IN US who is those things and He is IN us, to do and be, as soon as we GET OUT OF THE WAY.

My past sins are forgiven and the sinner (the old man, the factory of the sins) is crucified to the cross WHEN JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED.

It is important to understand that we were already crucified with Christ IN THE PAST and NOT IN THE FUTURE. We don’t HAVE to crucify ourselves, we WERE crucified with Christ when Jesus Christ was ON THE CROSS.

Just as we have faith for our past sins (our justification) through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross, so do we need to have faith that our sanctification occurred in TIMES PAST and NOT in the future. Our old man WAS crucified with Christ on the cross:

We need to believe for justification thru the blood of Jesus, but we also need to believe for sanctification by believing that God says that He has CRUCIFIED OUR OLD MAN WITH CHRIST, that we are CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST, and that God HAS PUT US IN CHRIST, by HIS freewill, and not by ours.

When we believe that we have been crucified with Christ, then we cease from our own works, because a dead man can do nothing. And that is when the newness of life in Jesus inside of us through the Holy Spirit can DO and ACT and SPEAK and THINK, when WE GET OUT OF THE WAY once we realize that our past sins are forgiven AND we ourselves are CRUCIFIED with Jesus.

At this point God only looks at what newness of life we can produce with the help of the Holy Spirit. All that first Adamic stuff is done away with through the forgiveness of sins past thru the blood and the crucifixion of the old man on the cross while Jesus was on the cross.

Only the resurrection newness of life therefore remains to be looked at in the saint:

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: but, like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should also walk [b]in newness of life.

When we get out of the way by realizing we are dead in Christ, the newness of Christ in us can work and do and speak.

It’s not about repairing ourselves, but about getting out of the way.

Be blessed,
Eden

When a man repent his/her sins and come to faith in Jesus Christ/Messiah, so immediately he/she receive forgiveness of the sins and is saved from the damnation.

When God has saved you, He is working through the Holy Spirit in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure. And through this work you will be saved from the corruption of the sins in the world and that you can be partaker of divine nature in Christ. In this phase when you already are a child of God and you are living in sanctification you will not anymore save from the damnation through sanctification life but through sanctification life you will be saved from the corruption of the sins in the world. Remember that you have saved from the damnation on that day when you repented and believed gospel about Jesus Christ. Works that we do through sanctification life don't save us from the damnation, because if we can achieve salvation through those works so Jesus alone is not the Saviour, but we also through sanctification life. But Jesus alone is the Saviour and so works through sanctification life don't save us from the damnation, but from the corruption of the sins in the world.
