"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth (the word earth should be underlined noting that it is not just Israel) agree about something you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."
I believe that the operative word is "agree".
People have a hard time agreeing. It was obvious in the book of Acts when it came down to the subject of eating unclean food. So why don't we keep most of our beliefs private, between God, and ourselves and only agree when we can substantiate our agreement about God and Jesus through the inspired word? You may not agree with this, but a common ground of agreement is stronger than a lone reclusive belief. I observe that the common ground has become vague on earth and is at a loss of focus-of spirit-for being in agreement-for what we ask for.
I for one person of any two that agree the title in verse, Revelation 3:14, "the ruler of God's creation", as fact and know that when I ask for something in the name of the ruler of God's creation that I am asking Jesus the Christ for that something. The power of agreement comes into being at acknowledging that Jesus is the Ruler of God's Creation. There are a lot of things to ask for, as no hurricanes for 2006 may have been a prayer coming together as I offered up this proposal last spring on the bellsouth message board. If the internet diminished the power of agreement in Jesus Christ name, the Ruler of God's Creation, many people wouldn't be turning to these message boards with prayer requests. God bless all in the coming new year, 2007.
