2 Thess. 2:
1: Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2: That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4: Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5: Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6: And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7: For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8: And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10: And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11: And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Eden, my Master is the Lord you (and all the world) have been waiting for. He is here, but only His chosen ones will recognise Him. To me He is Jesus returned - alive and able to lead me and show me the Way back home - to the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven. So don't worry about me, I'm fine. Thanks.

Dear A. Ben-Shema, what you or Anderson have seen about reality is real, but you are still Adamic; you (and I) are unable to STAY enlightened, and the reason for that is because we are descended from sinful Adam and Eve.

The lengths of the periods of enlightenment which I have experienced have varied, but averaged 6 to 8 hours. But one day I will die and will not be able to know and love God like I can know Him and love Him as I can while I am, well, alive.

Gautama Buddha saw that the universe could only be inhabited by the substance of God because when God created the skies and the earth, God could NOT reach outside of Himself to use as substance, God had to use His Own Godly substance. This, many masters have seen, including me, that the substance of the universe is Godly substance; I have seen that myself about 6 times in my life. But always, after 6 or 8 hours, I fell back out of that state of mind, that "everything, including me, was a Godly substance", and I was back to being that old Adamic ME again.

Anyway, from this fallen state, Jesus came to save us, for God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son Jesus of Nazareth, that whosoever would believe in Him (that He lived in Israel, died in Israel, and rose from the dead after 3 days in Israel and ascended and is the One who is coming again to take control of the earth, THAT ONE suffered Himself for us on the cross to PAY THE PENALTY for our SINS, so that God can feel good about His Justice side and still from His Mercy side FREELY give ETERNAL LIFE to us Adamic earthlings who can NO LONGER STAY in the realization of who they are in God actually, as Godly substance.

As Jesus said, this old Adamic wineskin will rupture if God put Holy Spirit New Wine in these old Adamic wineskins which we call our body.

We need to PUT ON another kind of body, a NEW wineskin, which will be able to hold HOLY SPIRIT, started from the SECOND ADAM, Jesus, and all of the FIRST ADAM will be done away with in the New Earth and the New Heaven (but that is another story).

So, A. Ben-Shema, as for your Topic title, A Mystic's View of Religion, my answer is that you have only HALF the truth; you need to ADD Jesus and be saved from this untoward generation, to reach the next level, the Second Adam generation which is coming on earth next.

"When the Messiah comes, will he do more miracles than this man does?"

Be blessed.

Eden

I would like to hear what members think of this statement by the Spiritual/Gnostic author, R. A. Anderson:

awrighty
quote:
The reason why so many ancient authors of religious texts wrote pseudonymously (i.e. using such renowned and time honoured names as: Enoch, Daniel, Abraham, Adam, Moses, Isaiah, etc.) was simply because of the reluctance of their contemporaries to listen, or believe, or to accept that anyone could, during their time, truly have received a message or revelation from God.
well...that plus the fact that in many instances more than one person was contributing content to the works attributed to the authorship name. This comprises what's known as a "mystery school".
quote:
It provides much evidence that Jesus was not the "first" and "only" Messiah, but just one in a long succession of such "God-men" (e.g. Melchizedek, Krishna, Moses, Isaiah, Buddha, John the Baptist, Mohammed, Nanak, etc. etc.). It also provides proof that "orthodox" Christianity has grossly misunderstood the teachings of Jesus, due mainly to some false beliefs and teachings of St. Paul and other early "orthodox" (e.g. gentile, Hellenistic, Roman, and "worldly") church "fathers" and theologians.
Not meaning to belittle, but this really is'nt anything that new or earth-shaking, and it's essentially a Universalist-leaning view.
"Paul" in fact IS considered to be the first real organizer and disseminator of the Christian faith, no biggie [Wink]

quote:
The content of this study is of a very controversial nature...
ehhh...well...after checking out the website promoting R.A. Anderson's works, I can honestly say I remember being exposed to a lot of the same content, roundabout the time "shortly before R.A.'s initiation in 1973" (per the photo). [Big Grin] Hey! - I also saw an ad for Carl Sagan's "Dragons of Eden" which is quite a good read!!
quote:
Such religions, instead of revealing the personal GNOSIS and actual EXPERIENCE (VISION)...can only offer, by their very nature, mere THEORY and SPECULATION – a variety of erroneous theological beliefs, empty promises, futile exoteric rites and rituals, and false hopes for the future – nothing more than blind faith in inadequate words learned by rote, and hollow repetitious prayers. This applies to ALL religions.
Well....yeah....but really that's sort of the "framework" whereby these religions can easily disseminate, translate, replicate, and grow into larger, more successful (if you will) organizational bodies.

Quality be damned - it's QUANTITY they're after [happyhappy] , and really overall it may be the most effective route if you want your message heard.

I'm a little put-off by the "only theory and speculation" part, since a LOT of mystical symbolism & esoterica is also theoretical in nature - sounds like maybe this guy could be anti-scientific establishment as well??

Aha!....After reading the topic post I'm beginning to think the "Gnosticism" being presented seems to be along the lines of (Unitarian?) Universalist belief, correct???

A question.....just wondering.

The Scribes and Pharisees did not recognize the Lord Jesus Christ, and who He was.

The gnostic does not recognize the Lord Jesus Christ and who He is.

The gnostic denies the Lord Jesus Christ and brings doctrines and visions of demons to deceive who they can.

I would like to hear what members think of this statement by the Spiritual/Gnostic author, R. A. Anderson:

The reason why so many ancient authors of religious texts wrote pseudonymously (i.e. using such renowned and time honoured names as: Enoch, Daniel, Abraham, Adam, Moses, Isaiah, etc.) was simply because of the reluctance of their contemporaries to listen, or believe, or to accept that anyone could, during their time, truly have received a message or revelation from God. The same applies today - for who would really believe such a claim? The idea is that God could certainly contact humans in ancient times - but, it would seem, no longer! Is God now dead, or mute? Of course not - for He continually contacts those few who truly turn to Him with a pure and open heart - those who seek for Him more than any worldly power, wealth, honour, or recognition!

I, too, have been graced to experience the Vision of God (the Divine Light / Shekhinah / Beatific Vision) and have written a study on genuine Gnosticism and Biblical exegesis, which I hope will be helpful to those who wish to understand and experience the Truth (God).

The content of this study is of a very controversial nature, but it is crucial for the understanding (and solution) of the current situation of religious ignorance which is causing so much hatred and intolerance across the world. It reveals the fundamental error inherent in all religions. It also provides evidence that so-called Christianity does not represent the genuine teachings of Jesus – quite the opposite, in fact – for hierarchical worldly religion actually represents everything that Jesus condemned. Such religions, instead of revealing the personal GNOSIS and actual EXPERIENCE (VISION) of God right HERE and NOW (as Jesus did, and all genuine living Masters have always done), can only offer, by their very nature, mere THEORY and SPECULATION – a variety of erroneous theological beliefs, empty promises, futile exoteric rites and rituals, and false hopes for the future – nothing more than blind faith in inadequate words learned by rote, and hollow repetitious prayers. This applies to ALL religions.

Jesus, as all genuine Masters / Prophets, was Gnostic by definition, i.e. he possessed "first-hand" EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE of God. It is the non-Gnostics (i.e. "believers"), which comprise the worldly majority, and who formulate orthodoxy, seek worldly power and wealth, and who then reject and persecute the Truth. Irenaeus and other early church fathers, who detested anyone even claiming to be Gnostic, were really no different from the Pharisees and Sadducees who rejected Jesus. These types are with us in abundance today - but now they must be known for who and what they really are!
