The phrase “you gotta allow Jesus to take over” is another way of saying that you must start reading the Bible on a more regular basis and allow what it says is in there to begin to change your thought life and emotional life.
As long as you ignore the prescription, J4Jesus, so long also with almost no “Jesus things” happen in your life.
It is NOT some mysterious RECIPE, J4Jesus, that gets you results. There are 3 things that you MUST to do see results in your life, and I have stated them before:
1. read the Word and let the Word wash you and increase your faith.
2. pray to the Lord with your petitions and questions; and over time as you pray, you will be able to see what was God and what was you.
3. And if you also have access to the Holy Spirit, so ask the Father to give you the Holy Spirit and believe that the Holy Spirit is starting to counsel your thoughts and emotions as to what to do and say next.
So it is not some mysterious “"you gotta allow Jesus to take over, gain access of those areas of your life, etc.” It is YOU doing the things you MUST do IF you want more of God and of His Son and of His Holy Spirit.
Neither is it a “once giving over your whole life to Jesus”, as if you are suddenly safe and continually doing it all, especially Bible reading and praying. Sometimes I read a group of books for a while, and then I don’t touch the Bible for several weeks, sometimes not even for months!
But eventually I am reading again, I’m remembering to pray again and I am able to hear what was the Holy Spirit’s counsel and what was me.
So it is not so much “gotta let Jesus” as it is “J4Jesus gotta get going” doing those 3 things; here is a guarantee: as you as you ignore the prescription, you will not get better.
Now you also know the answer to your other question: "so please, tell me what YOU allowed Jesus to do for you."
The more correct question is: "What did I do to get to know Jesus and God better today"?

Amen Shadowmaker, to me it is the small things in life that show me the way. I, also am traveling through some very difficult times
(of my own making) even though I know the truth and have never disbelieved it I have been living unchristian like.
Now that I have chosen to allow the Lord to redirected my path it would be nice to have the "big bang" from our Lord, but regardless I will chose to believe he hears me and is doing the work in me he started sooo many years ago.
So, J4Jesus, keep looking around you and up at the heavens and see the Father in all his glory. I have heard it said that in our future life with the Father that it will be just like it is here only greater and more awesome then we can ever imagine. That this earth experience like everything else with God is only a foreshadowing of future things.
May all be blessed who are counted among the righteous.

I allowed him to show me the beauty of his creation in the woods this morning while I hunted. I allowed him to watch over me while I slept in the woods and didnt worry about the bears and spiders and snakes getting me. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
You keep waiting for the big bang in being a Christian and when it doesnt happen you get discouraged. Its the small things that you learn to appreciate and see that makes it so great. Just getting up in the morning, regardless of how bad a day it may become is a blessing in itself. I try to thank him everyday for simply allowing me to wake up one more time. I m going thru some tough times right now myself but I just keep moving forward. Find the little things that you take for granted and be thankful. For example, being able to see, smell, taste, hear, walk, talk, etc etc.
And maybe I just allowed him to talk to you thru me. ![[thumbsup2]](graemlins/thumbsup2.gif)
