Answers To My Jehovah's Witness Friends
In 1889, Jehovah's Witness founder C. T. Russell predicted that "...the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished at the end of A.D. 1914."
According to Pastor Russell, "Jehovah, the God of the true prophets, will put all false prophets to shame either by not fulfilling the false prediction of such self-assuming prophets or by having His own prophecies fulfilled in a way opposite to that predicted by the false prophets." Could he be describing himself?
This book gives clear answers for the Jehovah's Witness who is determined to find the eternal life promised by God. We have posted the first two chapters for online reading.

2 John 1:9-11 (9) Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. (10) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; (11) for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

This was the topic of a recent bible study that I led. The following is an outline that I used containing verses pointing to the Deity of Christ (I also added in a Deity of the Holy Spirit verse as well). It was a helpful study for me because just 4 days after it, sure enough, a Jehovah's Witness showed up at my door on a Saturday afternoon (yup...just one...not two this time). I think I was able to quiet him down a bit on certain issues concerning where we go when we die, who Jesus is (i.e. "I Am"). So I hope that this list of scriptures might help you someday. Praise God for the truth! Here it is:
Sharing With A Jehovah’s Witness
As born again believers, we hold to the universal Christian truth that Jesus Christ was indeed God in the flesh. This particular study will focus on this truth. I like to think of this as an exercise in the Deity of Jesus Christ.
One key element to keep in mind throughout this study is this: Difference in function does not indicate inferiority of nature.
The all-important question that must be answered: “What is grace?” (Eph. 2:8-9) (Luke 18:18-23) “Keeping the law will not save you” _________________________________________________________________________ (John 1:1) “The Word is Christ….not a god” (Isaiah 7:14) (John 8:58) (Exodus 3:14) “I Am” (John 10:30) “Jesus and God are one” (John 20:28) “Thomas’ confession of Christ as God and Lord” (Acts 5:3-4) “Lying to the Holy Spirit is the same as lying to God” (Romans 9:5) “Christ, the eternally Blessed God” (2 Corinthians 5:21) “Righteousness of God existed in Christ” (Galatians 1:6-9) “Warning against preaching a false gospel” (Philippians 2:5-6) “Christ considered Himself equal to God” (Colossians 1:15) “Firstborn: Represents preeminence/supremacy” (Colossians 2:9) “Christ was literally God in the flesh” (1 Timothy 3:16) “God was manifested (appeared) in the flesh” (Titus 2:11-14) “Paul describes Christ as God and Savior” (Hebrews 1:1-8) “God speaks to the Son….and calls Him God” (Hebrews 2:17) “Humanity of Christ/High Priest” (1 John 2:23) “If you deny the Son, you deny the Father” (1 John 4:2-3) “Acknowledging Christ as God in the flesh” (1 John 5:20) “John calls Christ the true God” (2 John 10-11) “Any other gospel has to be rejected” (Revelation 1:8) “Christ is the Almighty God” (Revelation 22:18-19) “Do not add or take away from scripture”
-------------------- 1 John 1 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
