Author Topic: how do you truly die to self KnowHim Admin Member # 1 posted                          The Pharisee thought it was enough to have Jesus over for dinner and talk about God. Martha thought it was enough to be much serving and preparing. The disciples thought it was enough to use a little perfume on Jesus but save the rest of it for the poor. On the surface it would seem they are correct, but Jesus shows us a more excellent way. We must deny ourselves, but we must never deny Him. With Him, we can never say, "Enough." He is worthy of all, nay more than all, more than we have: so He should receive all that we have, all that we are. May Christ be the object of our desire. Amen. Posts: 4320 | From: Sunny Florida | Registered: Jun 2002  |  IP: Logged |  emmab First Post Member # 5812 posted                       have been (i think!) a christian for 11 years, yet have struggled with eating disorders for 18! recently the combination of therapy plus doing the study Purpose Driven Life and other books, i am realising i am lacking in some basics, namingly.. 1) who i am in God's view 2) God's right to my life 3) lack of submission 4) feeling God would never choose me for salvation etc etc anyway i am REALLY wanting to read some material that illustrates how BIG God is, how much I owe Him, and how to die to self and live for HIm any suggestions please -------------------- The days are long but the years are short!
